CM Patel Advances Initiative of On-Site Visits for Detailed Information on Key State Projects
Gandhinagar : Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel has begun a pioneering approach by personally visiting key project sites across the state, including those related to irrigation, roadways, and water supply. This method aims to evaluate the quality of work, monitor project progress, and obtain detailed information on each undertaking. Continuing this approach, the Chief Minister conducted an inspection on Saturday in Mahisagar and Kheda districts. The visit focused on the Lift Irrigation Pipeline project, which is being developed at an investment of ₹581 crore. This ambitious project will provide irrigation facilities for 125 villages across Kheda and Mahisagar districts in central Gujarat.
The project addresses long-standing irrigation deficiencies in 125 villages within Kapadvanj, Kathlal, Galateshwar, and Thasara in Kheda district, as well as Balasinore taluka in Mahisagar district. The Narmada Water Resources Water Supply and Kalpsar Division has undertaken this initiative with an estimated cost of ₹581 crore, aimed at supplying Mahi River water from the upstream side of Vanak Bori Weir. The Lift Irrigation Scheme will irrigate an area of 8,100 hectares by channeling Mahi River water to 133 ponds and one river in these 125 villages. During his inspection, Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel reviewed the progress of the Lift Irrigation Pipeline project and also observed the construction of a 40 lakh-liter capacity tank and MS pipeline at Raiyoli, Balasinore.
The Chief Minister conducted an extensive review, meeting with officials, engineers, and elected representatives, including MPs and MLAs. He provided essential guidance to ensure the high quality of work and the project’s completion by the 2027 deadline. Accompanying the Chief Minister during this inspection were District Panchayat President Shri Babubhai Patel, Panchmahal MP Shri Rajpalsinh Jadav, Panchmahal Ex-MP Shri Ratansinh Rathore, Balasinore MLA Shri Mansinh Chauhan, Water Resources Department Secretary Shri K.B. Rabadia, Madhya Gujarat Chief Engineer and Additional Secretary Shri M.D. Patel, District Collector Smt. Neha Kumari, District Development Officer Shri C.L. Patel, and the District Superintendent of Police.
