Lucknow, January 2026 :<\/strong> Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath hoisted the national flag at his official residence on Monday on the occasion of the 77th Republic Day. He extended warm Republic Day greetings to the people of the state. CM Yogi said that it was on this day in 1950 that the Constitution of India came into force. Over the course of this 76-year journey, the Constitution has witnessed many challenges and transformations, yet despite all odds, it has played a pivotal role in advancing the vision of \u201cEk Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat.\u201d From north to south and east to west, the Constitution has strengthened national pride, unity, and integrity, enabling the emergence of a New India. The Indian Constitution inspires citizens to connect with the collective spirit of the nation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Chief Minister Pays Tribute to National Icons<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Remembering the Father of the Nation, Mahatma Gandhi, CM Yogi said that under his leadership the freedom movement reached new heights. He paid homage to the Chairman of the Constituent Assembly and the first President of India, Dr. Rajendra Prasad; the chief architect of the Constitution, Babasaheb Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar; the Iron Man of India, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel; the legendary revolutionary Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose; and all the great sons of India who sacrificed everything for the nation\u2019s independence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After the formation of the Constituent Assembly under the leadership of Dr. Rajendra Prasad, India adopted its Constitution on November 26, 1949, which is now celebrated nationwide as Constitution Day. It is the duty of every Indian citizen to work with reverence and dedication towards the Constitution, as it has remained the nation\u2019s guiding force in both favorable and adverse situations. The phrase \u201cWe, the People of India\u201d serves as a source of inspiration for every citizen. The true guardian of the Constitution is the citizen of India, and every institution, ministry, and department must ensure accountability towards the people.
