He expressed confidence that the facility will significantly boost industry, exports, and trade across the state. In the context of shifting global trade dynamics, FedEx\u2019s decision to invest in Mumbai reflects India\u2019s economic strength and global confidence in Maharashtra\u2019s infrastructure, he added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The foundation stone for the FedEx dedicated cargo hub was laid by CM Fadnavis at Navi Mumbai International Airport, where he was speaking at the event.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Among those present were Forest Minister <strong>Ganesh Naik<\/strong>, MLA <strong>Manda Mhatre<\/strong>, former MP <strong>Ramsheth Thakur<\/strong>, CIDCO Managing Director and Vice Chairman <strong>Vijay Singhal<\/strong>, Raigad District Collector <strong>Kishan Jawale<\/strong>, Navi Mumbai Municipal Commissioner <strong>Dr. Kailas Shinde<\/strong>, <strong>Adani Airport Holdings Ltd.<\/strong> Director <strong>Jeet Adani<\/strong>, FedEx President and CEO <strong>Raj Subramaniam<\/strong>, FedEx MEIS President <strong>Kami Viswanathan<\/strong>, <strong>Richard Smith<\/strong>, and <strong>Arun Bansal<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>CM Fadnavis said FedEx\u2019s strong global presence and advanced technology will give a major push to cargo handling and trade in Maharashtra. He also expressed confidence that Navi Mumbai International Airport will emerge as one of India\u2019s best and busiest passenger and cargo airports.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He added that the <strong>Mumbai Metropolitan Region<\/strong> will be a key driver of India\u2019s future economic growth and a major contributor to the $5 trillion economy by 2047. Reducing logistics costs is crucial for national development, and companies like FedEx will help achieve this through technology. Maharashtra, a leader in manufacturing, will see widespread benefits for industry, exports, and the entire business ecosystem from this facility.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Speaking at the event, Jeet Adani said FedEx\u2019s choice of Navi Mumbai as a hub reflects global confidence in Maharashtra\u2019s infrastructure. Its strategic location near <strong>Jawaharlal Nehru Port<\/strong> and state-of-the-art cargo facilities will make it globally competitive, directly connecting exporters, MSMEs, pharmaceuticals, and agriculture to international markets.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>FedEx CEO Raj Subramaniam said the fully automated, world-class air cargo hub\u2014FedEx\u2019s first in India\u2014will be built over 300,000 sq ft with global-standard technology. With a long-term investment exceeding USD 250 million, the project aligns with India\u2019s national logistics cost strategy and the <strong>PM Gati Shakti<\/strong> initiative. Operating across nearly 220 countries, FedEx said the Navi Mumbai hub will strengthen India\u2019s integration into global supply chains.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The hub will generate over 6,000 direct and indirect jobs and enhance connectivity with Southeast Asia, West Asia, Europe, and the US.
