Minsk; February 2026<\/strong>: The US\u2019 decision not to issue visas for the Belarusian delegation to the Board of Peace meeting was a \u201cplausibly deniable\u201d form of humiliation against them for Lukashenko snubbing the event since Trump already takes him for granted as a future vassal and therefore expected his personal attendance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Earlier, 03 days ago, on 16th February, Belarus had intended to participate in the Peace Board and its events at the level of the head of state in the future, Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko said as he met with State Secretary of the Union State Sergey Glazyev in Minsk on 16 February. \u201cI very much hope that the events that will take place in the future. We will definitely participate in this Board at the level of the president, we will definitely participate\u201d, the head of state said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cMaybe not in Washington. Maybe the Board will hold its further meetings somewhere in Europe or the Middle East, perhaps in Israel, or closer, in T\u00fcrkiye. We will participate in them\u201d, the President has emphasised with a convincing level of aspirations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Aleksandr Lukashenko noted that Belarus traditionally promotes a peace agenda and has always advocated for the peaceful resolution of conflicts. In this context, he stated that the country is ready to participate in the activities of the Board of Peace. \u201cWe have one flag that is peace. We want peace, and above all in Ukraine, where our destiny lies\u201d, the president had declared. \u201cWe all want peace there. And not only in Ukraine, but in other places as well. I think our presence there in the Board of Peace will be appropriate\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

While, rebuffing an allegation that the Russian President has influenced Lukashenko’s decision; \u201cPutin is not that kind of person. He might carefully suggest something, hint at things. But to stop me from going? He would have said the opposite: ‘Listen, since you’ll be at the Board meeting, tell Donald this, that, and the other.’ To convey some messages. Not that Russia needs anyone to represent its interests, as Peskov said: they don’t need anyone (even Belarus) to represent them\u201d, Aleksandr Lukashenko noted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He did not rule out that Russia might join the Board of Peace in the future and could assume a leading role there provided the forum proves its effectiveness. It was in this context that \u201cRussia Warned About The West\u2019s Colour Revolution Plans In Belarus Four Years In Advance\u201d, which was timed to \u201csignal Russia\u2019s concern that Lukashenko is moving too fast in his d\u00e9tente with the West due to naivet\u00e9.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On 09th February 2026, the Foreign Intelligence Service’s (FIS) press office reported that, according to information received by the SVR, Western NGOs, including “democratisation” organisations, agencies, and foundations from the US, UK, Germany, Poland, and other European countries, are amassing forces and resources to once again attempt to destabilise the situation and achieve constitutional change in Belarus. The West hopes to weaken the bond between Minsk and Moscow within the Union State and make it more difficult for Russia to achieve its special military operation goals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To implement the “color revolution” scenario, the goal is to find new liberal enthusiasts within Belarusian society. In recent years, the exiled activists, led by Svetlana Tikhanovskaya, who have entrenched themselves in Lithuania and Poland, have revealed their complete inability to influence processes in their home country. Westerners plan to conduct a thorough “inventory” of Belarusian opposition cadres for potential use in subversive activities. The plan is to create a constituency “embittered by Alexander Lukashenko” with an eye toward the 2030 presidential elections.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

However, the West is overlooking one important detail. Belarusian society, having overcome the domestic political crisis of 2020 orchestrated by hostile external forces, has been well inoculated against attempts to destabilise the country. Belarusians have before their eyes the examples of Ukraine, Moldova, and many other countries destroyed in the name of Western geopolitical ambitions under the guise of false slogans about protecting democracy and human rights.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
