He emphasised that a highly favourable environment has been created in the state for trade and industry, which is why traders and industry representatives are increasingly coming forward to invest in Chhattisgarh.

The Chief Minister was addressing the closing ceremony of the National Trade Expo 2026 organised by the Confederation of All India Traders at BTI Ground in the state capital Raipur.

Addressing the gathering, Chief Minister Sai said that the Finance Minister, Shri O. P. Choudhary, has presented a budget of ₹1.72 lakh crore for the financial year 2026–27. He noted that the present government has completed two years and is now in its third year. The first year’s budget had the theme “GYAN,” where ‘G’ stood for the poor, ‘Y’ for youth, ‘A’ for annadata (farmers), and ‘N’ for women, with a focused approach on the development of these sections. In the second year, to accelerate this progress, the budget theme was “GATI,” while this year’s budget has been themed “SANKALP” (Resolve).

The Chief Minister said the budget has been prepared in the spirit of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s mantra of “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas, Sabka Prayas,” and is aimed at the overall welfare of the state. He added that special focus has been given to the Bastar and Surguja regions. Describing Bastar as an area larger than the state of Kerala and endowed with immense natural beauty, he said it could be considered a paradise on earth, but remained deprived of development for over four decades due to Naxalism.

Chief Minister Sai said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah, and due to the unmatched courage of security forces, Naxalism is now in its final phase. A resolve has been taken to eliminate Naxalism from Chhattisgarh and the entire country by March 31, 2026.

He stated that while earlier a large number of Naxals were active in the state, decisive action over the last two years has led to the elimination of several senior Maoists and the surrender of many others. As a result, the state is now moving swiftly towards its development goals. To compensate for years of lost development, the government is giving special attention to these regions.

The Chief Minister informed that provisions have been made in the budget for setting up Education Cities in areas such as Abujhmad and Jagargunda. Efforts are also underway to promote agriculture and add value to forest produce. He said that hundreds of varieties of forest produce are available in the Bastar and Surguja divisions, and value addition is strengthening the local economy. Nearly 44 percent of Chhattisgarh’s geographical area is covered by forests.

He added that under the “One Tree in the Name of Mother” campaign, 70 million trees have been planted, and compensatory afforestation is being carried out on a large scale under the state’s industrial policy.

Chief Minister Sai said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has resolved to make India a developed nation by 2047, and accordingly, building a Developed Chhattisgarh is essential.
