Hyderabad, Feb 2026: Telangana Jagruthi president Kalvakuntla Kavitha<\/strong> on Friday said the judiciary had \u201ccut through the entire web of lies\u201d after a Delhi court acquitted her and several others in the high-profile Delhi liquor excise policy case. Expressing relief and emotion, Kavitha said the verdict reaffirmed her faith in India\u2019s judicial system and proved that truth ultimately prevails.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Speaking to the media soon after the judgment, Kavitha said she had repeatedly maintained her innocence and described the case as politically motivated. \u201cWe said a hundred times that we had nothing to do with this case. It was imposed as part of political vendetta against opposition parties. Today\u2019s judgment has completely vindicated our stand,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Thanking the judiciary, Kavitha remarked that the court had carefully examined the facts and exposed what she termed a fabricated narrative. \u201cThe judiciary has seen right through this entire web of lies. In a transparent and fair manner, it has upheld our belief in justice,\u201d she added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kavitha is the daughter of K. Chandrasekhar Rao<\/strong>, president of the Bharat Rashtra Samithi<\/strong> (BRS). At the time of her arrest in March 2024, she was a BRS Member of the Legislative Council (MLC). She was arrested by the Enforcement Directorate<\/strong> (ED) and the Central Bureau of Investigation<\/strong> (CBI) and spent over five months in jail before being granted bail.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Recalling the ordeal, Kavitha said the period of incarceration was extremely painful for her and her family. \u201cI went through hell for five-and-a-half months. I lost precious time with my children and family. Who will account for that loss?\u201d she asked, pointing to the emotional toll of prolonged legal battles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

She said that immediately after the court pronounced its verdict, she sought the blessings of her mother. However, she chose not to respond directly when asked whether she would share her joy with her father KCR or her brother K. T. Rama Rao<\/strong>, popularly known as KTR.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kavitha also alleged that she was subjected to sustained harassment over the past three years. \u201cI was targeted on social media, abused online, and attacked repeatedly in public meetings. This was not just an attack on me but on my family and my political identity,\u201d she said, adding that KCR had repeatedly stated that the case was aimed at weakening both him and the BRS.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

She expressed gratitude to her in-laws, parents, husband, and children for standing by her during what she described as the most difficult phase of her life. Kavitha also thanked leaders and supporters of Telangana Jagruthi who travelled to Delhi at their own expense to express solidarity with her while she was in jail.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Meanwhile, the Rouse Avenue Court in Delhi on Friday acquitted former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal<\/strong>, former Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia<\/strong>, Kavitha, and 20 other accused in the Delhi liquor policy case, holding that the prosecution failed to establish any criminal wrongdoing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The verdict marks a significant legal and political relief for all those named in the case, closing a chapter that remained under intense public and judicial scrutiny for several years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
