Excise &amp; Narcotics Minister <strong>Lalnghinglova Hmar<\/strong> attended the ceremony as the chief guest, while Adviser to the Chief Minister <strong>Lalmuanpuia Punte<\/strong> was present as the guest of honour.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The training programme commenced on September 1, 2025. A total of 22 trainees successfully completed the course, including 12 Sub-Inspectors and 10 Constables.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"682\" src=\"https:\/\/mavericknews30.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/image-66-1024x682.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-107492\" srcset=\"https:\/\/mavericknews30.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/image-66-1024x682.png 1024w, https:\/\/mavericknews30.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/image-66-300x200.png 300w, https:\/\/mavericknews30.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/image-66-768x512.png 768w, https:\/\/mavericknews30.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/image-66-1536x1023.png 1536w, https:\/\/mavericknews30.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/image-66.png 1600w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Addressing the gathering, Minister Hmar stated that the Excise &amp; Narcotics Department, functioning under the guidance of the Chief Minister, is among the fastest-growing departments in the state. He highlighted that staff shortages had been a long-standing issue, but over the past two years, 28 personnel have been recruited through direct recruitment. He added that recruitment for another 41 posts is underway and 16 new posts have already been created.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Minister further informed that new Excise Stations have been opened in three newly created districts. Stations that earlier functioned under the jurisdiction of an Inspector have now been placed under the Assistant Commissioner at Lawngtlai. He also announced that approval has been granted for opening new Excise Stations at Sairang and Bairabi.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He said the department has recently received 21 new vehicles as part of the government\u2019s preparedness to combat drug abuse. Urging the newly trained personnel to give their best, he cautioned them against any involvement with drugs, stating that as public servants, such conduct is unacceptable.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Adviser Lalmuanpuia Punte, in his address, said that recent recruitments in the Excise &amp; Narcotics Department were carried out fairly and without political influence. He urged the new recruits to work with integrity, adding that since they were appointed as per the law, they are expected to perform their duties strictly in accordance with the law.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The event was attended by Excise &amp; Narcotics Commissioner Pu Z. Lalhmangaiha, senior departmental officials, and other dignitaries. CTI Commandant Pu Lalrengpuia administered the oath of integrity to the trainees and announced awards for outstanding performance, which were presented by the Minister.
