Mumbai, March 2026 :<\/strong>Maharashtra Cultural Affairs Minister Ashish Shelar<\/strong> said the state government is committed to presenting the life, philosophy, and contributions of Tukdoji Maharaj<\/strong> to audiences across the world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He made the remarks during the muhurat<\/em> ceremony of the film \u201cKhanjiriche Bol,\u201d<\/strong> a biographical movie based on the life of the revered saint. The film is being produced by the Cultural Affairs Department of the Government of Maharashtra<\/strong> in association with the Maharashtra Film, Theatre and Cultural Development Corporation<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The ceremony was attended by film director Anant Mahadevan<\/strong>, actor Prasad Oak<\/strong>, and Film City\u2019s Deputy Managing Director Prashant Sajanikar<\/strong>, among others.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Speaking at the event, Shelar said that true human progress lies not merely in the pursuit of happiness but in the search for inner satisfaction. He noted that Tukdoji Maharaj showed society the path to such fulfillment through devotion, community service, and spiritual teachings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Through devotional singing, bhajans<\/em> and kirtans<\/em>, as well as his work in rural upliftment, Tukdoji Maharaj inspired generations to live a life rooted in service and spirituality. His renowned work Gramgeeta<\/strong> emphasizes rural development, spiritual growth, and the dignity of labour.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Shelar said that at a time when the world is searching for sustainable development models, the vision of rural development outlined by Tukdoji Maharaj remains both practical and relevant.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He added that the state government has a responsibility not only to preserve the saint\u2019s legacy but also to present it effectively to future generations. That is why the government has actively supported the film as part of its cultural initiatives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The minister also noted that Devendra Fadnavis<\/strong> has been consistently guiding and encouraging the project to ensure that the saint\u2019s message reaches a wider audience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Shelar expressed confidence in the team behind the film, stating that the project being led by director Anant Mahadevan will bring authenticity and depth to the story. He also praised actor Prasad Oak, who will portray Tukdoji Maharaj in the film, expressing belief that his performance will powerfully capture the spirit of the saint.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to the minister, the film will help young generations understand the true path of development and inspire them to seek fulfillment not only through devotion but also through service to society.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The film is being produced under the Character Film Scheme of the Cultural Affairs Department, which supports biographical films on prominent personalities. Production responsibilities have been undertaken by Culture Canvas Entertainment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Several dignitaries were present at the ceremony, including Film City\u2019s Special Executive Officer Suchitra Deshpande<\/strong>, Culture Canvas representatives Kartiki Yadav<\/strong> and Shivam Yadav<\/strong>, and Dr. Santosh Phutane<\/strong>.
