Stressing the government\u2019s commitment to making Rajasthan greener, he said that coordinated efforts from all departments are essential to achieve this ambitious goal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Chief Minister instructed that all preparations for plantation\u2014such as site selection, fencing, and pit digging\u2014must be completed before the monsoon. Plantation activities will begin on World Environment Day (June 5) and will be accelerated during July, August, and September.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He emphasized the need for inter-departmental coordination, including support from the Revenue Department for land identification and collaboration with Indian Railways to carry out plantation on railway assets. The Public Works Department has been tasked with developing plans for planting trees along major roads and grazing lands in every district.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Highlighting environmental sustainability, Sharma directed that plantation efforts should consider soil productivity. He also instructed the Forest Department to prioritize planting fig trees in large numbers under the mission. Necessary resources, including water tankers, may be arranged through corporate social responsibility initiatives, and community volunteers should also be actively involved.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To promote agroforestry, the Chief Minister announced that farmers will be provided free fruit-bearing saplings under a special plantation campaign. He also directed officials to expedite the establishment of sandalwood forests in Udaipur, Sirohi, and Banswara, ensuring facilities such as fencing and drip irrigation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He further instructed the use of drone seeding in hilly and forest areas and emphasized prioritizing plantation activities in wildlife sanctuary regions as well.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Additionally, he called for the establishment of one \u201cNamo Nursery\u201d in each district and the phased development of \u201cNamo Forests\u201d at the block level.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It is noteworthy that under the initiative launched by the Chief Minister, a target of planting 50 crore saplings has been set for the period from 2024 to 2028. In 2024, over 7.22 crore saplings were planted against a target of 7 crore, and in 2025, more than 11.74 crore saplings were planted against a target of 10 crore.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The meeting was attended by Minister of State for Forest and Environment Sanjay Sharma, senior officials from the Chief Minister\u2019s Office and the Forest Department, while Chief Secretary V.
