Delhi government to take practical steps for workers\u2019 health and protection, says CM<\/p>\n\n\n\n
New Delhi, April 2026 : Delhi Chief Minister Smt. Rekha Gupta on Monday held a detailed interaction with members of the core committee of sanitation workers\u2019 unions from the Municipal Corporation of Delhi at the Chief Minister\u2019s Jan Seva Sadan. Representatives from various unions participated in the meeting, placing their concerns, suggestions and on-ground challenges openly before the Chief Minister. Key issues raised included recruitment and regularisation of sanitation workers. Workers also flagged concerns over workplace safety, wage-related problems and other service conditions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The representatives further demanded better healthcare facilities, permanent employment and a more dignified working environment in line with the nature of their work. Listening attentively to all concerns, the Chief Minister assured the workers that the Delhi government stands firmly with them. She said sanitation workers play a crucial role in keeping the city clean and functional, and protecting their interests remains a top priority for the government.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Gupta made it clear that the government is committed to taking concrete and practical steps to address their issues. She directed the concerned departments to review all matters raised by the unions and ensure prompt action, so that workers get improved working conditions, safety and the dignity they deserve.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
