Speaking at a high-profile gathering attended by Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, senior ministers, bureaucrats, and industry stakeholders, Adani positioned Odisha as a state that is not merely evolving but confidently shaping its own destiny.

Beginning his address with a traditional “Jai Jagannath” and “Namaskar,” Adani expressed gratitude for the warmth and hospitality he has consistently received in Odisha. Reflecting on his association with the state, he remarked that each visit strengthens a sense of belonging, describing Odisha as a place that leaves a lasting impression not just professionally but personally. He praised the clarity of vision demonstrated by the state leadership, noting that Odisha’s approach reflects the confidence of a region that knows exactly where it is headed.

Adani then turned to history, drawing powerful parallels between Odisha’s past and its future. He invoked the transformative legacy of the Kalinga War, fought on the banks of the Daya River, where Emperor Ashoka renounced violence after witnessing the devastation of war. According to Adani, this moment did not merely change a ruler but altered the moral trajectory of civilisation, giving rise to the philosophy of Dhamma that spread across Asia and influenced generations.

He also highlighted Odisha’s maritime heritage, recalling how ancient Kalingan traders ventured across the Bay of Bengal to regions such as Java, Sumatra, and Bali. These voyages, he noted, were not limited to commerce but carried with them language, art, architecture, and cultural values that shaped Southeast Asian civilisations. Odisha, he said, was never confined to regional influence; its reach was global, extending across oceans and cultures.

Continuing this historical reflection, Adani praised the architectural marvel of the Konark Sun Temple, describing it as a testament to human ingenuity and scientific precision. Built in the 13th century, the temple’s intricate design, including its 24 wheels functioning as sundials and its alignment with the winter solstice sunrise, demonstrates an advanced understanding of mathematics and astronomy. He described Konark as a symbol of a civilisation that dared to match its ambitions with the vastness of the universe.

Connecting this legacy to present-day developments, Adani emphasized that Odisha continues to embody the same spirit of innovation and determination. He pointed out that the state occupies a strategic position in India’s economic landscape, with over 570 kilometres of coastline, abundant natural resources such as coal, iron ore, bauxite, and chromite, and a growing, youthful workforce. He also acknowledged the role of governance reforms, noting that the state government has transformed itself into a facilitator of development rather than a barrier.

Adani highlighted Odisha’s Vision 2036 and 2047 roadmap, which aims to build a $500 billion economy by 2036 and expand to $1.5 trillion by 2047. He described these goals as ambitious yet achievable, given the strong foundation already in place. “Ambition without a foundation is merely aspiration,” he said, adding that Odisha’s strength lies in the alignment of its resources, people, and governance framework.

Reaffirming the Adani Group’s role as a long-term partner, Adani announced a total investment of ₹33,081 crore across three major projects that he described as transformative for the state’s future.

The first project is a state-of-the-art data centre at Info Valley in Bhubaneswar, with an investment of ₹800 crore. Adani described the facility as critical digital infrastructure that will power the next generation of technologies, including artificial intelligence, cloud computing, and digital governance. The project is expected to generate around 200 jobs and position Bhubaneswar as a leading technology hub in eastern India.

The second and largest initiative is a thermal power plant near Cuttack, involving an investment of ₹30,181 crore. Emphasizing the importance of energy security, Adani noted that no industrial economy can sustain growth without reliable power. The plant is expected to stabilise the electricity grid, support industrial expansion, and benefit households and small businesses. It will also generate approximately 7,000 direct and indirect jobs, significantly boosting local employment.

The third project is a cement manufacturing unit near Cuttack, with an investment of ₹2,100 crore. Adani highlighted the importance of building materials in infrastructure development, drawing parallels with the construction of historic monuments like Konark. The plant will create around 2,500 jobs and support the development of roads, housing, schools, and healthcare facilities across the state.

Together, these projects are expected to create nearly 9,700 jobs, with additional economic benefits flowing through local supply chains and communities. Adani described this investment as a strong vote of confidence in Odisha’s future and its potential to lead India’s next phase of industrial growth.

He concluded by emphasizing the importance of partnership, stating that the Adani Group’s growth is closely tied to Odisha’s progress. Thanking the state government for its vision and trust, he assured that the company remains committed to inclusive and sustainable development.

Addressing the people of Odisha, Adani said, “What we build here, we build for you and with you,” underlining the importance of community participation in development. He described the projects as more than infrastructure, calling them a promise for future generations.

Ending his speech with “Jai Jagannath” and “Bande Utkal Janani,” Adani reinforced a message of shared purpose, long-term commitment, and optimism for Odisha’s journey toward becoming a major economic powerhouse.

Bhubaneswar, April 2026: In a wide-ranging and deeply reflective address, Karan Adani laid out a compelling vision for Odisha’s future, blending history, culture, and economic ambition while reaffirming the Adani Group’s long-term commitment to the state.
