New Delhi, April 2026 : Former Jaypee Group chairman Jaiprakash Gaur has expressed strong confidence in the takeover of Jaiprakash Associates Ltd (JAL) by the Adani Group, following what he described as a fair and transparent resolution process conducted by the Committee of Creditors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In a statement issued on Friday, Gaur said that the Committee of Creditors had selected the Adani Group as the successful Resolution Applicant, adding that the decision is fully respected by him and the group. He conveyed optimism that under the leadership of Gautam Adani, the legacy of Jaiprakash Associates would be carried forward with renewed purpose and responsibility.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cI have every confidence that the company will move ahead with fresh energy while ensuring that the aspirations of all stakeholders are met,\u201d Gaur noted, extending his best wishes to the Adani Group as it prepares to take charge of the debt-laden firm.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He also acknowledged the role played by the resolution authorities, appreciating the transparent approach adopted by the Committee of Creditors and the Resolution Professional. Gaur further thanked both the Adani Group and the Vedanta Group for their active participation in the bidding process.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Reflecting on the journey of Jaiprakash Associates, Gaur highlighted that the company has been more than just a business venture. Founded in 1979, it evolved into a symbol of ambition, perseverance, and nation-building. Over the decades, the Jaypee Group developed several landmark projects, including the Buddh International Circuit, major hydropower initiatives, cement manufacturing facilities, and integrated townships such as Jaypee Greens and Jaypee Sports City.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
However, he acknowledged that recent financial challenges pushed the company into the Corporate Insolvency Resolution Process, a phase that proved difficult for all stakeholders. Despite these hurdles, Gaur stated that the group remained committed to working sincerely with homebuyers, employees, lenders, and partners to ensure a fair resolution.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Meanwhile, the takeover process received a boost after the Supreme Court of India declined to stay the implementation of the resolution plan submitted by Adani Enterprises. The court observed that the matter is already scheduled for final hearing before the National Company Law Appellate Tribunal (NCLAT) on April 10 and saw no reason to intervene at this stage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The development marks a crucial turning point for Jaiprakash Associates, as the transition to new ownership is expected to revive the company\u2019s operations and restore confidence among stakeholders.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
