Chief Minister Dr Mohan Yadav said that agriculture is the foundation of our life and culture. Farmers, as food providers, are not only the backbone of our traditions and cultural heritage but also the foundation of a secure future. A farmer produces food not only for his family but for the entire society. Farmers also sustain animals, birds and even insects. Therefore, it is our responsibility to bring joy and celebration into the lives of these Annadatas. He said that the Government of Madhya Pradesh is observing this year as \u2018Krishak Kalyan Varsh\u2019, and celebrating Agriculture Lokarang\u20132026 is an important initiative in this direction.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav was addressing a review meeting on the preparations for the Agriculture Lokarang\u20132026 event at the Chief Minister\u2019s Residence (Samatva Bhavan) on Friday. He instructed officials to ensure that the event becomes a vibrant celebration of farmers\u2019 lives, their traditions, and agricultural culture. He said that those who work day and night to feed society deserve happiness and recognition for their efforts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that innovative initiatives, such as an Agriculture Quiz Competition, should be introduced to enhance the participation of farmers and the general public in Krishi Lokarang. Winners of the competition will be awarded prizes. The first-place winner (topper) from each district could be given useful agricultural resources for farmers, such as tractors and other prizes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Cultural Events to be held at State, Divisional and District Levels<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that the state is observing this year as Farmer Welfare Year with the objective of increasing farmers\u2019 income, improving their standard of living and making agriculture more profitable, while also bringing greater joy to their lives. He said the year will be celebrated as a year of happiness for farmers so that they feel respected not only economically, but also socially and culturally. He directed that, along with the state-level event, popular cultural events, exhibitions and poetry gatherings be organised at divisional and district levels during Lokarang. Maximum participation should be ensured in these events. The Chief Minister also instructed that information about the Krishi Lokarang should effectively reach rural areas. Local products, handicrafts and agriculture-based industries and their products should be showcased during the event so that farmers get opportunities to connect with markets.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that the event will publicly recognise the contribution of farmers and strengthen respect for them in society. He said that youth participation in Agriculture Lokarang should also be encouraged so that the younger generation understands the importance of agriculture and farmers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Jal Ganga Samvardhan Campaign to be linked with Farmer Welfare Year<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that along with Krishak Kalyan Varsh, the Jal Ganga Samvardhan Campaign is currently being implemented across the state. Under the campaign, work is being carried out rapidly to construct various water structures and revive dried water sources through recharge. Farmers are among the primary beneficiaries of these water conservation works and activities taking place across the state. The campaign will undoubtedly support the objectives of Krishak Kalyan Varsh. He directed that the Jal Ganga Samvardhan Campaign be linked with the Krishak Kalyan Varsh through joint activities and collective efforts. Progressive farmers should be honoured during Agriculture Lokarang. Farmers should also be provided with detailed information on advanced agricultural technologies, organic and natural farming, water conservation, and crop diversification, and encouraged not to burn crop residue.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Krishi Lokarang to be Linked with Local Fairs of Local Bodies<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that in most regions of the state, local bodies organise various religious and cultural fairs. These fairs should be effectively integrated with the Agriculture Lokarang celebrations. Through these fairs, farmers and the general public can be informed in an engaging manner about the government\u2019s initiatives for farmers\u2019 welfare and agricultural development. He said that various innovations and experiments can also be introduced during Agriculture Lokarang to inspire farmers to adopt new practices.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Farmers Selling Natural Farming Products to be Honoured<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that natural farming is the need of the present time. Farmers in the state who have adopted natural farming and established a strong identity by selling natural products in large quantities should be publicly honoured during Republic Day and Independence Day celebrations. In addition, felicitation event for such farmers should also be organised at the state and divisional levels.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Secretary, Farmers\u2019 Welfare and Agriculture Development, informed that the Trustee Secretary of Veer Bharat Nyas under the Swarajya Sansthan Directorate will act as the nodal officer for the entire Agriculture Lokarang event. The event will be organised under the guidance of the Culture Department with the participation of the Departments of Farmers\u2019 Welfare and Agriculture Development, Home, Horticulture and Food Processing, Public Health and Medical Education, Industrial Policy and Investment Promotion, Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises, Water Resources, Animal Husbandry and Dairy Development, New and Renewable Energy, Fishermen Welfare and Fisheries Development, along with the Public Relations Department.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Chief Secretary Shri Anurag Jain, Additional Chief Secretary Higher Education and Public Relations Shri Anupam Rajan, Principal Secretary Cooperation Shri D.P.
