In Sangli district, this scheme is implemented by Bhagini Nivedita Pratishthan, Sangli. Facilities such as accommodation, food, education, skill training, and vocational training are provided free of cost.<br>Women can apply directly to the institution\u2019s superintendent or seek admission through the District Women and Child Development Office, police, social organizations, or social workers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Address:<\/strong> Bhagini Nivedita Pratishthan Swadhar Greh, Old Polio Centre, near Skylark School, Yashwant Nagar, Sangli. Contact: 8237935546 \/ 9272195069<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>2) Sakhi Niwas \u2013 Working Women\u2019s Hostel<\/strong><br>Two hostels are being run in Sangli for working women\u2014one by Bhagini Nivedita Pratishthan and another by Latthe Education Society. This scheme provides safe accommodation for single, unmarried, widowed, divorced, separated women, or women whose husbands live away.<br>Eligibility requires a monthly income not exceeding \u20b950,000 in metropolitan cities and \u20b935,000 in other cities. Women can stay with their children (girls up to 18 years and boys up to 12 years). Contact: 0233-3553800<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>3) Counseling Centres<\/strong><br>Under this scheme, counseling services are provided to women facing domestic violence disputes. Four centers are operational in Sangli district at police stations in Sangli city, Islampur, Vita, and Tasgaon.<br>In 2024\u201325, 574 women and in 2025\u201326, 267 women received counseling services. For more details, women can contact the respective police stations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>4) Abhay Centres<\/strong><br>The Protection of Women from Domestic Violence Act is implemented across all talukas. Abhay Centres operate in the offices of Child Development Project Officers within Panchayat Samiti premises.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>5) One Stop Centre<\/strong><br>The \u2018Sakhi One Stop Centre\u2019 provides medical, legal, and psychological support under one roof for distressed women facing physical, mental, or economic abuse. Women and their families can seek help by contacting the toll-free Women Helpline 181.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>6) Internal Complaints Committee<\/strong><br>To ensure safety at workplaces, every government and private establishment with 10 or more employees must form an Internal Complaints Committee under the Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace Act, 2013. Women facing workplace harassment can approach this committee.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>7) Government and NGO Child Care Homes<\/strong><br>Under the Juvenile Justice Act, 2015, children aged 0 to 18 years in need of care and protection\u2014such as orphans, homeless, HIV-affected, abused, or children of prisoners\u2014are admitted to child care homes. Facilities include food, clothing, shelter, medical care, education, training, and counseling.<br>In Sangli district, 11 child care homes (including 8 for girls) and one infant home are operational.
