BJP will take away everything,” she alleged, urging voters to remain cautious ahead of the crucial two-phase polling scheduled for April 23 and April 29.

Taking aim at Narendra Modi without naming him directly, the Chief Minister criticised recent campaign promises related to implementing the 7th Pay Commission benefits for state government employees. She dismissed the claims as misleading, asserting that her government had already announced the implementation in the state budget earlier this year.

“They are making false promises. We have already provided for the 7th Pay Commission in our February budget. West Bengal is among the few states where government employees continue to receive pensions,” Banerjee said, adding that such assurances were being made without proper awareness of the state’s existing policies.

She also targeted the BJP over claims that Bengali food products and sweets would be promoted globally if the party comes to power. Banerjee countered this by stating that such products are already being marketed not only within the state but also across the country and internationally.

The Chief Minister further alleged attempts to influence the electoral outcome by dividing minority votes. While refraining from naming individuals directly, she referred to a purported “Rs 1,000 crore deal” aimed at polarising voters. She also mentioned a controversial video linked to the allegations, questioning claims that it was fabricated using artificial intelligence.

“You have seen how efforts are being made to divide minority voters. Now they say the video is fake, but the creator insists it is real. How long will such things be hidden?” she said.

Raising economic concerns, Banerjee also questioned the BJP-led central government on rising fuel prices. She asked why petrol, diesel, and cooking gas prices had not been reduced despite the party’s resources.

With political rhetoric intensifying ahead of the elections, Banerjee’s remarks highlight the high-stakes battle in West Bengal, where both major parties are aggressively campaigning to secure voter support.

Kolkata, April 2026 : West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Sunday launched a sharp attack on the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), warning that many people could lose their homes and security if the party comes to power in the state following the upcoming Assembly elections.
