Kanyakumari, April 2026 : Vijay, president of the Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK), on Sunday laid out an ambitious roadmap for governance while launching a sharp attack on Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M. K. Stalin during an election rally in Kanyakumari district.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Addressing a large gathering in Mahadhanapuram, Vijay promised a corruption-free system where welfare schemes would be delivered directly to citizens without bureaucratic hurdles, applications, or bribes. He emphasised that his vision prioritises efficiency, transparency, and accessibility.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
A key proposal highlighted in his speech was the introduction of a \u201cpriority card\u201d for every family in Tamil Nadu. Similar in concept to Aadhaar, the card would store comprehensive household data, enabling the government to deliver benefits seamlessly from birth onwards. Vijay said this system would eliminate delays and ensure that entitlements reach beneficiaries automatically.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cPeople should not have to struggle or pay bribes to access what is rightfully theirs. Government schemes will reach your doorstep,\u201d he said, underscoring his commitment to simplifying governance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Vijay also stressed the role of technology in transforming public administration, stating that artificial intelligence would power the proposed system. According to him, AI-driven governance would improve efficiency, reduce corruption, and ensure timely delivery of services.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Taking a direct swipe at Stalin, Vijay asserted that his plans were not \u201cimaginary stories\u201d but practical, scientifically achievable solutions. He accused the current administration of fostering deep-rooted corruption, alleging that bribes collected at lower administrative levels often extend up to higher \u0b85\u0ba4\u0bbf\u0b95\u0bbe\u0bb0, including ministers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cStopping corruption will be our first priority,\u201d he declared, adding that a TVK-led government would roll out a comprehensive \u201cTamil Nadu Government Service Scheme\u201d within six months of assuming power.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Another major announcement was the launch of a unified digital platform called the \u201cVetri Tamil Nadu Super App.\u201d This platform, he said, would integrate all government services into a single interface, making it easier for citizens to access them. Vijay assured strict accountability, stating that delays in service delivery would result in immediate action against responsible officials.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Promoting participatory governance, Vijay proposed creating a dedicated public portal where citizens could submit ideas, track government spending, and directly petition the Assembly. He outlined a system where petitions backed by 10,000 signatures would receive official responses, while those supported by one million citizens would be taken up for legislative debate. He also promised to allocate a full day during Assembly sessions to discuss such public petitions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Highlighting economic concerns, Vijay criticised the state\u2019s growing debt, which he claimed has exceeded Rs 10.05 lakh crore. He accused the current government of excessive borrowing and pledged to boost revenue while rationalising expenditure, without imposing additional taxes on citizens.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
