New Delhi, April 2026 : Chairman of the Tata Group, Natarajan Chandrasekaran, on Monday described the allegations emerging from the Nashik branch of Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) as \u201cgravely concerning and anguishing,\u201d assuring that the matter is being handled with the highest level of seriousness and urgency.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In an official statement, Chandrasekaran said that immediate action had already been initiated against the employees accused in the case and that the company is fully cooperating with ongoing investigations by law enforcement authorities. He reiterated the Tata Group\u2019s long-standing commitment to ethical conduct, stressing a strict zero-tolerance policy towards any form of coercion, harassment, or misconduct within the organisation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The controversy comes amid growing scrutiny of the TCS Nashik unit following multiple First Information Reports (FIRs) related to alleged incidents of sexual harassment and forced religious conversion. According to reports, the issue first surfaced in March when a woman accused a colleague of engaging in a physical relationship with her under the false promise of marriage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Subsequent investigations reportedly brought to light additional complaints of a similar nature, prompting authorities to register several more FIRs. The developments have raised serious concerns about workplace safety and employee conduct within the organisation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Police officials have confirmed that at least six employees have been arrested in connection with the case, based on intelligence inputs received by the Nashik Police Commissioner\u2019s office. In response to the gravity of the allegations, a Special Investigation Team (SIT) has been constituted to conduct a detailed and time-bound inquiry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Meanwhile, a human resources official based in Pune is also being questioned as part of the investigation to determine whether there were any lapses in internal compliance mechanisms or reporting procedures.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
