Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai inaugurated the facility at the Sukma District Hospital, emphasizing that ensuring accessible and quality healthcare for every citizen remains the government’s top priority.

The initiative aligns with the Indian philosophical vision of “Sarve Bhavantu Sukhinah, Sarve Santu Niramayah” (May all be happy, may all be free from illness), reflecting the state’s commitment to public welfare.

Speaking at the event, the Chief Minister stated that the government is determined to provide high-quality, affordable, and timely healthcare services to all citizens. Through the Atal Arogya Lab initiative, free diagnostic services will now be available across 1,046 health institutions in the state, ranging from district hospitals to primary health centers. This move is expected to directly benefit millions of people, particularly those living in remote and tribal areas.

The lab is equipped with an advanced digital system that will offer 133 types of diagnostic tests free of cost. Patients will receive their test reports directly via SMS and WhatsApp, eliminating the need for repeated hospital visits and significantly speeding up the treatment process. This system is also expected to enhance transparency and accessibility in healthcare delivery.

The Chief Minister further highlighted efforts to strengthen the state’s diagnostic infrastructure. With improved facilities, early and accurate detection of diseases, including blood-related conditions, will become more efficient, enabling timely treatment and better recovery outcomes.

He stressed that expanding such modern healthcare facilities in remote regions like Bastar is a key priority of the state government. The goal is to reduce dependency on larger cities for medical treatment and ensure that quality healthcare is available closer to home. The Atal Arogya Lab is expected to serve as a strong foundation in achieving this objective.

It is noteworthy that the Sukma District Hospital already offers several essential services, including a blood bank, sonography, X-ray, ECG, emergency services, cesarean delivery, Nutritional Rehabilitation Centre (NRC), and dialysis. With the addition of the Atal Arogya Lab, healthcare services in the region are set to become more comprehensive and robust.

The event was also attended by Health Minister Shyam Bihari Jaiswal, Bastar MP Mahesh Kashyap, Women’s Commission member Deepika Sori, Commissioner Doman Singh, IG Sundarraj P., along with other officials and dignitaries.

Raipur, April 2026: Marking a significant step toward transforming healthcare in the Bastar region, Chhattisgarh has initiated a new phase of medical advancement with the launch of the ‘Atal Arogya Lab’ in Sukma.
