\u2013 Fertilizer dealers found violating rules will not be spared: Agriculture Minister<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Jaipur, April 2026 :<\/strong> The state government and the Agriculture Department have ensured adequate availability of fertilizers to meet the demand for the Kharif 2026 season. To prevent black marketing, diversion, and hoarding of fertilizers, intensive inspections are being conducted across the state at district, sub-division, and gram panchayat levels.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Officials are inspecting fertilizer dealers as well as industrial units that may misuse urea for non-agricultural purposes, such as plywood, resin, DEF (Diesel Exhaust Fluid), and animal feed manufacturing units. Strict action is being taken wherever irregularities are detected.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Agriculture Minister Kirodi Lal Meena stated that as of April 13, 2026, the state has sufficient stock of fertilizers in both cooperative and private sectors. The available stock includes 3.84 lakh metric tonnes of urea, 71,000 metric tonnes of DAP, 67,000 metric tonnes of NPK, and 2.13 lakh metric tonnes of SSP. Supplies are continuing steadily, and farmers need not worry as the government will ensure there is no shortage. He added that compared to previous years and other states, the availability of fertilizers is higher this year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The minister further informed that a quality control campaign to prevent urea diversion, black marketing, and hoarding has been underway since March 29. Additionally, a special drive launched on April 11 has intensified surprise inspections and raids across the state to curb illegal storage, black marketing, and misuse of subsidized urea.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Under the leadership of Agriculture Commissioner Naresh Kumar Goyal, raids were conducted on April 11 at fertilizer outlets and plywood manufacturing units in the Kaladera industrial area, amid suspicions of urea misuse. During this period, the department carried out 2,793 inspections. Show-cause notices were issued to 437 fertilizer dealers found violating norms, sales of 23 dealers were halted, and licenses of 38 dealers were suspended. One complaint has also been filed for lodging an FIR, and enforcement actions are ongoing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Principal Secretary for Agriculture and Horticulture Manju Rajpal has directed all district authorities to encourage farmers to use fertilizers based on Soil Health Card recommendations. She also emphasized promoting green manure, organic farming, and natural farming practices. Instructions have been issued to ensure transparent and equitable distribution of fertilizers and to take strict action against dealers involved in irregularities, hoarding, or black marketing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The Agriculture Commissioner added that special enforcement drives will continue from time to time to curb hoarding, black marketing, and diversion of urea.
