Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav stated that the birth anniversary of Dr. B. R. Ambedkar is being celebrated with great enthusiasm at his birthplace, Mhow, today. He described Babasaheb as a visionary who fought to overcome the hardships of a thousand years of subjugation and to instil a sense of equality in society. He said that the nation feels proud of Babasaheb\u2019s contributions and emphasised that there can be no Constitution better than the one he created, which should continue to guide the country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav, recalling Dr. Ambedkar\u2019s efforts toward women\u2019s equality and empowerment, said that he played a pivotal role in securing women\u2019s rights to paternal property, compensation during divorce, and maternity leave. He also highlighted Babasaheb\u2019s visionary idea of \u2018equal pay for equal work\u2019 for women. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav was addressing a gathering at the birth anniversary held at the Janmabhoomi complex in Dr. Ambedkar Nagar (Mhow), Indore, on Tuesday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

33% Reservation for Women in Parliament and Assemblies<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav stated that Babasaheb was a courageous and steadfast advocate of women\u2019s empowerment, even sacrificing his position for the dignity and \"\"rights of women. He noted that provisions such as minimum wages, company law, and rights of women workers are among Babasaheb\u2019s key contributions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav stated that, following the ideals of Dr. Ambedkar, the Central Government under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to take one of the most significant decisions of the 21st century for women\u2019s empowerment. Discussions will soon be held in Parliament for the full implementation of the \u2018Nari Shakti Vandan Act\u2019, which will ensure 33 per cent reservation for women in the Lok Sabha and State Legislative Assemblies. He said the nation will always remember Babasaheb\u2019s contributions toward women\u2019s welfare.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that the atmosphere at Bhim Janmabhoomi resembled that of major festivals like Holi and Diwali. He informed that all five key sites \"\"associated with Babasaheb\u2019s life have been developed as \u2018Panchteerth\u2019. He further stated that the state government is providing an incentive of \u20b92 lakh to newly married couples for inter-caste marriages to eliminate caste-based discrimination. Additionally, one-third of the state\u2019s annual budget has been allocated for the welfare of Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav released the book \u2018Babasaheb Ki Drishti Mein Samajik Nyay\u2019 authored by Shri Anil Gajbhiye and Dr. Satyabhan Meshram. He also honoured five social workers\u2014Dr. Sudeep Bhagatdeep, Dr. Sandesh Madhavrao, Late Shri Nishant Kayre and Dr. Meena Gajbhiy, with the \u2018Bhim Ratna Award 2026\u2019. He also led the gathering in raising slogans of \u201cBabasaheb Amar Rahe.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

MLA and former Minister Smt. Usha Thakur said that the true tribute to Babasaheb would be to follow the path shown by him. She urged everyone to take a pledge to refrain from violence, theft, addiction and wrongdoing, and to work towards social transformation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Senior thinker Shri Alok Kumar highlighted that despite being highly educated, Dr. B. R. Ambedkar faced discrimination. He stated that Mahatma Gandhi had recommended to Jawaharlal Nehru that Dr. Ambedkar was the most suitable person to chair the Constitution Drafting Committee. The Chief Minister said that Dr. Ambedkar promoted fraternity, equality and abolished untouchability through Article 17 of the Constitution.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav Shares Community Meal with Followers, Promotes Social Harmony<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav shared a community meal with followers who had arrived from various states at the birth anniversary event, conveying a strong message of social harmony. Sitting in rows with devotees, he said \"\"that Babasaheb\u2019s life inspires us to walk the path of equality, fraternity, and social justice. He emphasised that Ambedkar Jayanti is not just a celebration but an opportunity to strengthen unity and harmony in society. Such community meals help eliminate discrimination and promote mutual goodwill. He urged everyone to imbibe Babasaheb\u2019s message of social harmony in their lives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav visited the grand memorial at Dr. Ambedkar Nagar (Mhow) and paid floral tribute to Dr. Ambedkar\u2019s statue. He also paid respects at the site housing Babasaheb\u2019s ashes and garlanded the statue of Bhante Dharmasheel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The state government made elaborate arrangements for devotees visiting Mhow, including accommodation, free meals, and drinking water, ensuring a comfortable and respectful experience for all attendees.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The event was also addressed by other speakers. Water Resources Minister Shri Tulsiram Silawat, Union Minister of State for Women and Child Development Smt.
