Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav on Tuesday paid homage to Dr. B. R. Ambedkar on his 136th birth anniversary by garlanding his statue and offering floral tributes at Babasaheb Ambedkar Square near the Board Office in Bhopal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav, highlighting Babasaheb\u2019s life and contributions, said that Dr. Ambedkar\u2019s role in the making of modern India is unforgettable and unparalleled. He emphasised that by drafting the Indian Constitution, Babasaheb ensured the protection of rights for all and laid the foundation for an egalitarian society. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav led the gathering in reciting the Preamble of the Constitution and raised slogans of \u2018Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar Amar Rahe\u2019.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav stated that Dr. Ambedkar was a powerful voice throughout his life for the social, economic, educational and political empowerment of the deprived, oppressed and marginalised sections of society. He affirmed that the state government is consistently working with the ideals of equality and social harmony envisioned by Babasaheb at its core. The Chief Minister stated that under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, the country is progressing on the path of \u2018Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas, Sabka Prayas\u2019, striving to realise Babasaheb\u2019s vision. He emphasised that the nation comes first and called for united efforts to strengthen social harmony.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that governments have always honoured Babasaheb\u2019s legacy. In Bhopal, a flyover has been named after him. A grand memorial has been constructed at his birthplace in Mhow (Now Dr. Ambedkar Nagar). Several initiatives, including the Kamdhenu Scheme and an economic welfare scheme, have been launched in his name. A sanctuary in Sagar has also been named after Babasaheb and plans are underway to establish Dr. Ambedkar Dham in Gwalior. He further informed that the Central Government has developed five key sites associated with Babasaheb as \u2018Panchteerth\u2019 to preserve his legacy. These include his birthplace in Mhow, Madhya Pradesh, place of education in London, Deeksha Bhoomi in Nagpur, Mahaparinirvan Sthal in Delhi and Chaitya Bhoomi in Mumbai. These sites reflect his struggles and ideals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav stated that Dr. Ambedkar made significant efforts for women\u2019s education, protection of their natural rights, and their socio-economic upliftment. In line with his vision, the country is moving towards a new era of women’s empowerment. Under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, the Central Government is set to hold historic discussions in Parliament on implementing the \u2018Nari Shakti Vandan Act\u2019, which aims to provide a 33 per cent reservation for women in Parliament and State Assemblies. He described this as a transformative step towards ensuring full rights for half of the country\u2019s population and strengthening women\u2019s political leadership in India\u2019s democratic system.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Minister for Sports and Youth Welfare and Cooperation, Shri Vishvas Kailash Sarang, Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Backwards Classes and Minority Welfare, Smt. Krishna Gaur, Minister of State for Forest and Environment, Shri Dilip Ahirwar, Bhopal MP, Shri Alok Sharma, MLA, Shri Bhagwandas Sabnani, Mayor, Smt.
