NEW DELHI: April, 2026 : With the Enforcement Directorate (ED) conducting its second raid in just three days on an Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader in Punjab, the party has escalated its attack on the BJP led Centre, revealing a deliberate crackdown on opposition, a pattern for BJP before opposition ruled state elections, through central agencies. After earlier raids at Rajya Sabha MP Dr Ashok Mittal and searches now at Cabinet Minister Sanjeev Arora\u2019s premises, AAP leaders asserted that opposition voices are being selectively targeted while governance issues were being ignored. AAP National Convenor Arvind Kejriwal said the country was watching how low the Prime Minister was willing to go for power.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

AAP National Convenor Arvind Kejriwal took to ‘X’ and wrote, \u201cThis is the second ED raid in three days at the residence of an Aam Aadmi Party leader. Will the PM tell the country how much black money has been found in the countless raids conducted so far at the homes of AAP leaders? Was even one rupee found? The whole country is watching how low you are willing to stoop for power.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He further said, \u201cOur country\u2019s economy has now slipped to sixth place. The rupee is continuously weakening, people\u2019s businesses are shutting down, unemployment is rising, but the Modi government has no time except to send ED to the homes of opposition leaders. Is this how the country will move forward?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Meanwhile, Punjab CM Bhagwant Singh Mann said on X, \u201cThe BJP ruled central government is continuously trying to murder democracy. Why are ED raids being carried out only in those states where BJP is not in power? Those who raise their voice for people\u2019s rights and work for public welfare are either sent ED notices or put in jail. But the BJP must remember that democracy cannot be crushed through fear and pressure.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bhagwant Singh Mann added, \u201cFrom the revolutionary land of Punjab, I want to make it clear that wherever there is oppression, we will stand firmly there. BJP should stop dreaming of winning Punjab elections with the help of ED, CBI and the Election Commission. A Punjabi may lose his head, but he will never bow out of fear. This fight is not for one individual, but to save our country and Constitution, and this struggle will continue. We will keep serving the country and the people with complete honesty.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On the other hand, senior AAP leader and Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh stated on X, \u201cModi ji\u2019s \u2018parrots\u2019 have become active again. Meanwhile, senior AAP leader and Delhi Assembly LoP Atishi wrote on X, \u201cThis is the second action against Aam Aadmi Party leaders in the last three days. First Ashok Mittal and now Sanjeev Arora have faced ED raids. Targeting AAP leaders before elections shows BJP\u2019s fear of defeat and cowardice. On the other hand, AAP National Media In-charge Anurag Dhanda states, \u201cThis is the second ED raid against Aam Aadmi Party in Punjab within three days. Now ED has raided Punjab Cabinet Minister Sanjeev Arora\u2019s premises. The Modi government has crossed every limit of shamelessness. They are no longer even pretending to follow democratic norms.
