{"id":115721,"date":"2026-04-18T21:23:28","date_gmt":"2026-04-18T15:53:28","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/mavericknews30.com\/?p=115721"},"modified":"2026-04-18T21:23:29","modified_gmt":"2026-04-18T15:53:29","slug":"use-ai-to-ensure-smooth-power-generation-and-supply-cm-devendra-fadnavis","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mavericknews30.com\/?p=115721","title":{"rendered":"Use AI to Ensure Smooth Power Generation and Supply : CM Devendra Fadnavis"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>Power distribution review meeting held on summer peak demand<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Mumbai, April 2026 : Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has directed the Energy Department and related agencies to adopt Artificial Intelligence (AI) to ensure efficient management of power generation and uninterrupted electricity supply.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The instructions were issued during a power distribution review meeting held at Sahyadri State Guest House, focusing on handling peak electricity demand during the summer season.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The meeting was attended by Energy Department Principal Secretary Abha Shukla, Additional Chief Secretary to the Chief Minister Lokesh Chandra, Principal Secretary Dr. Shrikar Pardeshi, along with representatives from Tata Power, Adani Power, and BEST.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Fadnavis stated that considering the summer and upcoming monsoon seasons, the Energy Department and associated agencies must take all necessary measures on a war footing to ensure uninterrupted power generation and supply. He emphasized the use of AI for better management, as well as for maintenance and repair operations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Officials informed that the system is fully prepared to ensure adequate power generation and smooth supply. Rooftop solar energy has contributed positively, while sufficient coal and water are available for power generation. Pre-monsoon maintenance and repair works are also being carried out to avoid disruptions. The department further stated that emergency response mechanisms are in place to handle any unforeseen situations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Key highlights include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The Koyna Hydroelectric Project can operate at full capacity of up to 1,800 MW as per requirement<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Additional power can be procured during emergencies<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Strengthening of the transmission system in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Adequate arrangements for power procurement<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The Mumbai Islanding Scheme, a critical safety mechanism, is operational and enables Mumbai to function independently in case of grid failure, thereby preventing large-scale blackouts.
