While addressing public meetings in Mathabhanga and Dhupguri Assembly constituencies, he criticised the stand of opposition parties in the Lok Sabha on the Nari Shakti Vandan Amendment Bill.

Chief Minister said, “Advocates of Bangladeshi infiltrators did not allow the amendment bill to pass. Termed it an insult to half the population of the country and said that mothers and sisters will not tolerate it.”

Blaming the Trinamool Congress for the current disorder in West Bengal, he declared that Mamata Banerjee should vacate the throne as BJP is coming, and said that the people of Bengal need not to fear anymore.

Chief Minister also said, “Prime Minister Narendra Modi introduced a bill in Parliament to provide 33% reservation for women in Lok Sabha and Legislative Assemblies to be implemented by 2029, but Congress, Trinamool Congress, Samajwadi Party and Left parties did not allow it to pass.”

He alleged that these parties do not want to give rights to half the population but support Bangladeshi infiltrators. He said that in Bengal, the ruling government is facilitating inclusion of such people in voter lists, depriving the poor of their rights. He added that rejecting the Nari Shakti Vandan Amendment Bill is an insult to women, which they will not accept.

Chief Minister added, Trinamool Congress used to speak about mother, land and people, but the country witnessed its behaviour in Parliament. He alleged that in Bengal, infiltrators are snatching the rights of local citizens, while people are living in fear due to alleged lawlessness.

He said, farmers are not getting fair prices and are forced to migrate. He compared that in Uttar Pradesh potatoes are priced between ₹15 to ₹20, while in Bengal they are between ₹1 to ₹1.5.

He stated, more than 7,000 large factories have closed during 15 years of TMC rule. While Uttar Pradesh has provided employment to 3 crore youth, around 30 lakh youth are unemployed in Bengal. He also mentioned declining Paddy and Fish production and alleged that central funds are not reaching beneficiaries.

Chief Minister alleged that Mamata Banerjee opposes Hindus and slogans of Jai Shri Ram. He said that she also opposed the Citizenship Amendment Act, which provides citizenship rights to persecuted communities such as Hindus, Jains and Sikhs from neighbouring countries like Bangladesh.

He stated, recently 1056 such families in Uttar Pradesh were given land rights and citizenship. He criticised Congress, Left and TMC for opposing the Act and said his government stands firmly for the protection of Hindus globally.

Chief Minister accused TMC of engaging in appeasement politics and said it does not think beyond Muslims. He alleged that in Bengal people cannot raise slogans of Jai Shri Ram due to fear of government action and attacks by party workers.

He also claimed that there are disturbances before festivals like Durga Puja and that permissions are denied. This was the situation in Uttar Pradesh before 2017, stating that earlier there were frequent riots and curfews, but now the situation has improved.

He said under the double engine government in Uttar Pradesh, there is no curfew and no riots, and law and order has improved. Action is taken against criminals and properties of mafias are being used for public welfare.

He added, “Prayers are not offered on roads and that the sound of Azaan is limited to mosques. There is no scope for illegal activities and called this an opportunity for Bengal to change.”

Chief Minister said, before 2017, religious events were restricted, but now both Kawad Yatra and Durga Puja are conducted peacefully. Large numbers of devotees participate in these events in Uttar Pradesh and concerns raised earlier about law and order have proven unfounded.

Chief Minister paid tribute to eminent personalities from Bengal such as Rabindranath Tagore, Bankim Chandra Chattopadhyay, Ramakrishna Paramhansa, Swami Vivekananda, Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose, Khudiram Bose and Dr. Syama Prasad Mookerjee. He said Bengal has contributed significantly to India’s culture, heritage and history of sacrifice.

Chief Minister appealed to voters to bring a double engine government in Bengal and support BJP candidates Nishith Pramanik from Mathabhanga, Savitri Burman from Sitalkuchi and Naresh Chandra Roy from Dhupguri.

He said, after May 4, those who are issuing threats will be forced to bow down. He added that this year marks 150 years of Vande Mataram and called for restoring Bengal’s glory through a double engine government.

Box

CM Yogi connects with people through Bengali interaction

Kooch Behar/Jalpaiguri, April 18.

During the public meetings, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath interacted with voters in Bengali and connected with them effectively.
