Mumbai, April 2026: The Chief Minister\u2019s Medical Assistance Fund is proving to be a support for eligible and needy patients who have not received help under various government health schemes. In the Mumbai district, during the financial year, medical financial assistance of approximately \u20b96 crore 55 lakh has been distributed to 686 patients.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Under the foresight of Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, several positive changes have been introduced, including the establishment of a district cell, a paperless application process, and prompt disposal of applications. Along with this, support is being received through agreements, crowdfunding, and cooperation from hospitals, charitable institutions, organizations, and donors in society.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Due to improvements in the functioning of the Chief Minister\u2019s Assistance Fund and the availability of multiple channels of support, transparency has increased and the speed of aid distribution has improved significantly. As a result, more eligible patients are receiving timely financial assistance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Aid for 20 serious diseases<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Financial assistance is provided for a total of 20 serious illnesses, including cochlear implant (age 2 to 6 years), heart, liver, kidney, lung and bone marrow transplants, hand and knee transplants, hip replacement, cancer surgery, road accidents, surgeries for small children, brain diseases, heart diseases, dialysis, cancer (chemotherapy\/radiation), ligament-related conditions, neonatal diseases, burn injuries, and electrical accident cases.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Support through Memorandum of Understanding<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n On the initiative of Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, a Memorandum of Understanding has recently been signed between the Chief Minister\u2019s Assistance Fund cell, BPCL Foundation, and Tata Memorial Centre for the treatment of cancer in children. Through this agreement, special funds will be made available under Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR). This will reduce financial difficulties and make quality cancer treatment more accessible to needy children.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Assistance during the financial year<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n From April 1, 2025, to March 31, 2026, a total of 40,776 patients across the state have been provided medical assistance amounting to \u20b9333 crore 6 lakh 81 thousand 500. During the same period, in Mumbai district alone, 686 patients received financial assistance of approximately \u20b96 crore 55 lakh 38 thousand.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Due to the initiative of Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, needy patients in Mumbai district are receiving timely financial support through the Chief Minister\u2019s Medical Assistance Fund.
