He was speaking on the topic \u201cArtificial Intelligence and its Impact on Journalism\u201d at a one-day workshop on \u201cWomen, Media and Technology,\u201d jointly organized by the National Commission for Women and the Directorate General of Information and Public Relations at Yashwantrao Chavan Pratishthan\u2019s Rangaswar Hall.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Chairperson of the National Commission for Women Vijaya Rahatkar, Member Secretary of the State Women\u2019s Commission Nandini Awade, noted writer Dr. Richa Sood, and senior journalist Dr. Swati Gupta from New Delhi were present.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Guiding the participants, Brijesh Singh said that artificial intelligence technology works on human context, and therefore, there is a possibility of errors. While using AI in journalism, it must be ensured that the context is accurate. Women journalists report on politics, entertainment, and crime, and AI technology can be highly useful for them in reporting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
More time for analytical and research work<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n AI is not just a tool for information but a powerful medium that increases the speed of journalism. Effective use of AI for data collection, translation, and presentation across platforms can improve the quality of work. AI also saves human effort, giving journalists more time for analytical and research-based work, he added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n In changing times, for enriched journalism and to stay ahead, it is essential for women to use AI tools. To take advantage of new opportunities created by AI, women journalists need to enhance their technical skills. He said that in the coming times, women have the opportunity to create a distinct identity by embracing technology and also appealed to the National Commission for Women to initiate AI skill training for women journalists.<\/p>\n\n\n\n He emphasized that the barrier of the English language should be removed by promoting the use of AI in regional languages. With Indic AI tools like Sarvam, it will now be easier to deliver news and information directly to people in rural areas in their local languages. This will eliminate language barriers, make information more accessible, and benefit women journalists at the grassroots level.<\/p>\n\n\n\n During the workshop, while sharing information about digital initiatives in the Information and Public Relations Department, Brijesh Singh said that AI is being used for accurate and faster dissemination of news.
