The primary battle is being fought among key players such as the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam, All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam, Naam Tamilar Katchi, and Tamil Manila Congress. The presence of multiple contenders has made the electoral contest complex, with regional dynamics playing a crucial role in shaping outcomes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A massive electorate of over 5.73 crore voters is eligible to participate in this democratic exercise. This includes approximately 2.93 crore women and 2.83 crore men, along with more than 14.5 lakh first-time voters who are expected to play a significant role in influencing the results.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In the lead-up to polling, the Election Commission of India undertook extensive voter awareness campaigns aimed at boosting participation and ensuring informed voting. Special efforts were made to address voter apathy and improve turnout in both urban and rural regions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>State Chief Electoral Officer Archana Patnaik stated that the election machinery is fully prepared to conduct smooth and transparent polling. She noted that authorities issued 243 rebuttals and clarifications during the campaign period to counter misinformation circulating on social media, underscoring the focus on maintaining electoral integrity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Preparations on the ground have been extensive. Mock polling exercises were conducted at several locations, including facilities in Madurai, Tiruchirappalli, and villages near Thiruthuraipoondi, to ensure that all systems function efficiently on polling day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For the voting process, as many as 75,064 polling stations have been set up across the state. Over three lakh polling personnel have been deployed to manage operations and facilitate a smooth voting experience for citizens.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Security arrangements have been significantly strengthened to ensure peaceful polling. More than 83,000 police personnel have been stationed across Tamil Nadu to maintain law and order. Additionally, election authorities have deployed over 1.06 lakh ballot units, along with control units and VVPAT machines. A reserve stock of 20\u201330 per cent has also been maintained to address any technical contingencies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>With high voter participation expected and intense competition among major political forces, the outcome of this election is likely to have a significant impact on Tamil Nadu\u2019s political future.
