Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu has welcomed the Supreme Court\u2019s decision to stay the Himachal Pradesh High Court\u2019s directive to initiate disqualification proceedings against MLAs appointed as Chief Parliamentary Secretaries in Himachal Pradesh. While interacting with media persons at New Delhi, he stated that the Supreme Court has provided clarity on the legal interpretation of the matter, which differed from paragraph 50 of the High Court\u2019s decision. \u201cThe relief granted by the Supreme Court is significant, and we will now deliberate on the next steps after considering all legal aspects,\u201d the Chief Minister said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Responding to another question, Sh. Sukhu criticized the opposition\u2019s behavior, describing it as \u201cchildish\u201d and lacking focus on public issues. \u201cThere are no controversies, but their behavior is simply childish. Sometimes they talk about toilet tax, sometimes they indulge in \u2018Samosa Politics.\u2019 These are mere distractions,\u201d he remarked. He stated that since the BJP\u2019s \u201cOperation Lotus\u201d was rejected by the people of the State and the Congress successfully retained its strength of 40 seats in the Vidhan Sabha, the opposition\u2019s personal attacks against him are a deliberate attempt to divert attention from the welfare schemes implemented by the State Government over the past two years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Chief Minister said that the opposition should act responsibly and raise welfare issues of the common man.
