A project agreement in this regard was signed in the Cabinet meeting hall of the Legislature building in the presence of Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis. On this occasion, the Chief Minister stated that this project will further accelerate the development of Nagpur city and its surrounding areas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>MahaMetro&#8217;s Managing Director <strong>Shravan Hardikar<\/strong> and Asian Development Bank\u2019s Director <strong>Mio Oka<\/strong> signed the financial assistance agreement. For <strong>Nagpur Metro Rail Project Phase-2<\/strong>, a total of <strong>\u20b93586 crore<\/strong> will be financed by the <strong>Asian Development Bank (ADB)<\/strong> and the <strong>European Investment Bank (EIB)<\/strong>. Out of this, <strong>\u20b91527 crore<\/strong> will come from the Asian Development Bank, and an agreement for the same has been signed. This funding will be provided to MahaMetro in <strong>Japanese Yen<\/strong>, which will comparatively result in a lower interest rate on the loan. The loan amount for MahaMetro will be made available through the <strong>Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs (MoHUA)<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The <strong>Nagpur Metro Rail Project Phase-2<\/strong> will cover a total of <strong>43.8 kilometers<\/strong>, comprising the following stretches:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>18.5 kilometers<\/strong> from Khapri to MIDC ESR,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>13 kilometers<\/strong> from Automotive Square to Kanhan River,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>5.6 kilometers<\/strong> from Prajapati Nagar to Transport Nagar,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>6.7 kilometers<\/strong> from Lokmanya Nagar to Hingna.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>This metro project will benefit <strong>10 lakh residents<\/strong> in and around the Nagpur area.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On this occasion, Chief Secretary <strong>Sujata Saunik<\/strong>, Additional Chief Secretary to the Chief Minister <strong>Vikas Kharge<\/strong>, CEO of &#8220;Mitra&#8221; <strong>Praveen Pardeshi<\/strong>, Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister <strong>Ashwini Bhide<\/strong>, Secretary <strong>Shrikhar Pardeshi<\/strong>, secretaries of various departments, Asian Development Bank\u2019s subject experts, along with MahaMetro\u2019s Director (SP) <strong>Anilkumar Kokate<\/strong>, Director (Finance) <strong>Harendra Pandey<\/strong>, and others were present.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Faster Development of Nagpur City and Surrounding Areas Due to Boost to Nagpur Metro Project Phase-2 &#8211; Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis Nagpur : Financial assistance of \u20b91527 crore (200 million dollars) will be provided by the Asian Development Bank (ADB) to boost the second phase of the Nagpur Metro Rail Project.
