However, with several pending applications across the state, there was a growing demand for an extension. <strong>The scheme will now be applicable to pending cases as well as new applications submitted by December 31, 2025.<\/strong> A formal notification will be issued soon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>\ud83d\udc49 Water Resources Department<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>\u20b9315.05 Crore Approved for Strengthening and Leak Prevention at Temghar Dam<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Cabinet has approved <strong>\u20b9315.05 crore<\/strong> for <strong>reinforcement and leakage prevention<\/strong> at the <strong>Temghar Dam<\/strong> in <strong>Mulshi Taluka, Pune district<\/strong>. The dam supplies <strong>3.409 TMC of drinking water<\/strong> to <strong>Pune city<\/strong> and provides irrigation for <strong>1,000 hectares<\/strong> through Kolhapur-style weirs in Mulshi Taluka.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Due to significant water leakage from the dam, <strong>large quantities of water are being wasted, posing a risk to both the dam structure and Pune city\u2019s water security<\/strong>. Reports from multiple committees have highlighted the urgency of <strong>immediate repair and reinforcement measures<\/strong>. The approved budget will be used to stop the leakage, ensuring <strong>better water availability for farmers and enhanced safety for Pune city.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>\ud83d\udc49 Soil &amp; Water Conservation Department<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>\u20b9170 Crore Allocated for Submerged Barrages in Koyna Reservoir<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Cabinet has approved <strong>\u20b9170 crore<\/strong> for the construction of <strong>25 submerged barrages<\/strong> in the <strong>Koyna Reservoir<\/strong> in <strong>Mahabaleshwar and Jawali talukas, Satara district<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>During <strong>February to May<\/strong>, the <strong>water levels in the Koyna Reservoir drop significantly<\/strong>, leading to <strong>severe drinking and irrigation water shortages<\/strong> for local residents. To address this issue, the state government will <strong>construct submerged barrages<\/strong>, ensuring water availability even during low reservoir levels.
