Organised by the Ministry of Information &amp; Broadcasting, WAVES brings together industry leaders, stakeholders, and global participants to shape the sector\u2019s future and promote trade opportunities in India.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A key highlight of WAVES is the Create in India Challenges, which have received over 70,000 registrations and launched 31 competitions aimed at fostering creativity and innovation. Out of these, 25 challenges remain open for participation, with 22 attracting global entries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/static.pib.gov.in\/WriteReadData\/userfiles\/image\/image0015PJ9.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>WAVES VFX Challenge (WAFX Competition)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The WAVES VFX Challenge (WAFX) is India\u2019s premier nationwide search for top VFX talent. Organised in partnership with the Ministry of Information &amp; Broadcasting and ABAI, it marks a milestone in India\u2019s creative landscape under the inaugural Create in India Season 1.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Competition Overview<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/static.pib.gov.in\/WriteReadData\/userfiles\/image\/image003HE0H.png\" alt=\"\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Theme: Daily Life Superhero<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The contest theme revolves around&nbsp;<strong>\u2018Daily Life Super Heroes\u2019.<\/strong>&nbsp;Participants are invited to create visual effects sequences or short films that showcase superheroes tackling mundane tasks with humour and creativity. Think of superheroes helping out with household chores, daily commutes, or solving everyday problems in creative and humorous ways<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Categories<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Student Category:<\/strong>\u00a0Open to school and university students (proof of enrolment required).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Professional Category:<\/strong>\u00a0Open to working professionals in VFX, animation, and filmmaking (including freelancers and studio artists).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Competition Structure<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>1. Qualifier Round<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Registration:<\/strong>\u00a0Participants select their zone and submit a 30-second VFX video based on the theme \u201cDaily Life Superhero.\u201d<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Selection:<\/strong>\u00a0A jury will shortlist top 10 students and 10 professionals per zone for the Zonal Contests.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>2. Zonal Contests<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Zonal Contest Locations:<\/strong>\u00a0Chandigarh (North Zone), Mumbai (West Zone), Kolkata (East Zone), Bengaluru (South Zone).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Live competition (10-hour challenge) in selected cities.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Contestants create a VFX reel using provided stock videos, 3D assets, and FX libraries.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Winners per category receive an all-expenses-paid opportunity to compete in the Grand Finale at WAVES 2025.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>3.
