With predictions of heavy rain, lightning, and gusty winds reaching speeds of 30 &#8211; 50 kmph across parts of South Bengal, railway authorities have intensified preparedness to minimize disruptions and safeguard railway infrastructure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Comprehensive Safety &amp; Preparedness Measures:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Securing Overhead Equipment (OHE):<\/strong>\u00a0OHE structures, insulators, and fittings are being reinforced to withstand strong winds, ensuring uninterrupted power supply for trains.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Ensuring Signal System Resilience:<\/strong>\u00a0Regular inspections of signalling cables, relay rooms, and lightning protection systems are being carried out to prevent failures and maintain smooth train operations.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Track &amp; Drainage Maintenance:<\/strong>\u00a0Intensive inspections and cleaning of track drainage systems are being conducted to prevent waterlogging and potential track damage. Maintenance teams are on high alert for immediate resolution of any issues.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Tree Pruning Along Tracks:<\/strong>\u00a0Railway personnel have been directed to identify and trim weak or overhanging branches near railway tracks and OHE lines to prevent disruptions caused by falling trees during strong winds.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Platform Shelter Reinforcement:<\/strong>\u00a0Structural integrity checks of platform shelters and overhead covers are being conducted.
