TEL AVIV :<\/strong> In a significant escalation of tensions in the Middle East, Israel Defense Forces (IDF) Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Eyal Zamir announced on Thursday that Israel is using its own military capabilities to turn the tables on Iran, launching powerful strikes deep into Iranian territory. Addressing commanders and soldiers at the Intelligence Directorate\u2019s research division, Zamir said Israel has effectively transformed Iran\u2019s long-standing \u201cring of fire\u201d strategy into a counteroffensive aimed directly at the Islamic Republic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe are now creating a ‘ring of fire’ \u2014 the very bulwark they constructed for years to attack us \u2014 and directing it back at them,\u201d Zamir said, according to The Jerusalem Post<\/em>. Zamir emphasized the admiration with which the global community is watching Israel\u2019s unprecedented military campaign. \u201cEvery citizen of this country, and the entire world, is looking at you with respect. People ask how this is possible \u2014 and I say, miracles do happen. And the miracle-makers are people \u2014 you,\u201d he told the troops.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to reports, Israel\u2019s campaign has targeted dozens of high-ranking Iranian officials. Major General Shlomi Binder revealed that the IDF struck the Quds Force with overwhelming force on the first night of the operation. \u201cTwo days ago, our forces, using exceptional intelligence and coordination, located and bombed one of the Iranian regime\u2019s secret headquarters in the mountains,\u201d Binder said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Though some commanders fled the initial strike, Israeli forces pursued them. \u201cTwelve hours later, we successfully targeted the Chief of Staff of Khatam al-Anbiya, who had escaped to another mountain range near Tehran,\u201d Binder added. Approximately 30 top Iranian commanders have been targeted, some of whom have already been publicly identified.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThis threat is one that the State of Israel cannot and will not tolerate,\u201d Binder said. \u201cThat\u2019s why we launched this operation, and that\u2019s why we are working swiftly to complete our mission.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hezbollah Declares Full Backing for Iran<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Amid the intensifying conflict, Hezbollah\u2019s Deputy Secretary-General Sheikh Naim Qassem delivered a fiery speech on Thursday night pledging \u201call kinds of support\u201d to Iran in its standoff with Israel and the United States. Qassem defended Iran\u2019s nuclear program, describing it as peaceful and intended for scientific and social development.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cIran\u2019s nuclear efforts do not pose a threat to anyone. Instead, they mark a major scientific achievement that enhances Iran\u2019s growth and that of the region,\u201d Qassem said. He argued that global opposition to Iran is rooted not in fears of nuclear proliferation, but in Iran\u2019s stance on \u201cfaith, knowledge, and freedom\u201d and its support for oppressed communities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Qassem was especially critical of U.S. President Donald Trump, accusing him of pushing the Middle East into turmoil. \u201cThe United States is leading the region into chaos and the world into open crises,\u201d he said. \u201cThis will only bring Washington shame, humiliation, and eventual failure.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He reaffirmed Hezbollah\u2019s loyalty to Iran and its leadership. \u201cIran has the right to defend itself, and the peoples of the region \u2014 as well as all free people of the world \u2014 have the right to stand shoulder to shoulder with Iran and its great leader,\u201d Qassem declared. \u201cWe stand with Iran\u2019s independence, the liberation of its lands, and the freedom of its decisions.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Calling for a global show of solidarity, Qassem urged \u201call free people, the oppressed, resistance fighters, scholars, and people of conscience\u201d to unite behind Iran\u2019s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. \u201cLet us show strength, courage, and unity in support of the most honorable leadership of Imam Khamenei,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

U.S. Issues Sharp Warning to Hezbollah<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The United States swiftly responded to Hezbollah\u2019s statements. Visiting Beirut on Thursday, U.S. Special Envoy for Syria and Ambassador to Turkey Thomas Barrack issued a clear warning: it would be a \u201cvery, very, very bad decision\u201d for Hezbollah to become actively involved in the Israel-Iran war.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After meeting Lebanese Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri, a political ally of Hezbollah, Barrack addressed the media. \u201cI say this on behalf of President Trump and Special Envoy Steve Witkoff \u2014 Hezbollah joining the conflict would be disastrous,\u201d he warned.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
