Aizawl, 7 Aug 2025 : The widening work on the Kawnpui to Sairang NH-06, considered the most difficult and challenging section, has reached a major milestone with the completion of the stretch leading to Zoram Mega Food Park, Khamrang junction. The most challenging portion\u2014about 100 metres long\u2014was tackled today, and as of 2:00 p.m., nearly 80 metres had already been cleared of boulders, with full completion expected within the day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The work is being carried out using two excavators, one vibratory roller, and one grader. Proper side drains along the road are also being constructed to ensure better water management.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
NHIDCL, which is executing the widening project, has announced that traffic on the Kawnpui\u2013Sairang road will operate as a one-way system. Starting from 6:00 p.m. on 7 August 2025, only essential commodities will be transported, allowing 6- and 10-wheeler heavy motor vehicles (HMVs) to pass.
