Jaipur, Oct 2025 :<\/strong> Under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma<\/strong>, the state government is continuously working to promote girls\u2019 education<\/strong>. The government\u2019s top priority is to ensure that every girl in Rajasthan receives ample opportunities for higher education<\/strong> and becomes self-reliant, enabling the state to achieve new heights in the field of women\u2019s education.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In this direction, the Devnarayan Student Scooty Distribution and Incentive Scheme<\/strong> is playing a vital role in inspiring and motivating young girls<\/strong> across the state to shape their own future.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Devnarayan Scooty and Incentive Scheme \u2013 Encouraging Higher Education for Girls<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The Devnarayan Student Scooty Distribution and Incentive Scheme<\/strong> was launched in 2011\u201312<\/strong> by the Department of College Education<\/strong> to encourage girls\u2019 education. Under this scheme, girls belonging to the Special Backward Class (SBC)<\/strong> who are domiciles of Rajasthan<\/strong> and have secured 50% or more marks in Class 12<\/strong> (from either the Rajasthan Board of Secondary Education or CBSE) and are regular students in the first year of graduation<\/strong> in a government college or state-funded university in Rajasthan<\/strong>, are awarded a scooty<\/strong> based on their merit ranking<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Annual Distribution of 4,240 Scooties from 2025<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

With the Chief Minister\u2019s initiative, the government not only distributes scooties to students who meet the annual target but also includes other students with the same cut-off marks<\/strong>, providing them free scooties<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To be eligible, the annual income<\/strong> of the student\u2019s parents, guardians, or husband<\/strong> must be below \u20b92.5 lakh<\/strong>.
Earlier, the annual target for scooty distribution was 1,500<\/strong>, which has now been increased to 4,240 scooties per year starting from 2025\u201326<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Annual Incentive for Eligible Students<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

For students who do not qualify for scooty distribution, the government provides cash incentives<\/strong>:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    \n
  • \u20b910,000 per year<\/strong> to SBC girls who score 50% or more marks<\/strong> in the first, second, and third years of graduation<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • \u20b920,000 per year<\/strong> in both the first and second years of postgraduate studies<\/strong>, provided they achieve 50% or more marks<\/strong> in the first year.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

    Eligible candidates include SBC girls<\/strong> whose parents\u2019 or guardians\u2019 annual income<\/strong> is less than \u20b92.5 lakh<\/strong> and who are studying in government colleges or state-funded universities<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Positive Impact of the Scheme<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

    So far, under the Devnarayan Scooty Distribution Scheme<\/strong>, the state government has spent \u20b974.35 crore<\/strong>, benefiting 16,021 girl students<\/strong>. Additionally, under the incentive component<\/strong>, \u20b99.76 crore<\/strong> has been disbursed to benefit 19,100 girls<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    For the financial year 2025\u201326<\/strong>, a budget provision of \u20b956.10 crore<\/strong> has been approved, out of which \u20b932.92 crore<\/strong> has already been spent by September 2025<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
