Hyderabad, Nov 2025 :<\/strong> The campaign for the high-stakes by-election in Telangana\u2019s Jubilee Hills Assembly constituency has intensified dramatically, with the Congress, BRS, and BJP unleashing their full political machinery in a bid to capture one of Hyderabad\u2019s most high-profile seats.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With only three days left before campaigning ends, top leaders from all three parties are hitting the streets, holding roadshows, corner meetings, and door-to-door outreach to sway undecided voters.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy<\/strong> is leading the Congress charge, conducting a series of high-energy roadshows and local interactions. Nearly a dozen state ministers have been deployed across the constituency, engaging in intensive canvassing to consolidate support for the ruling party\u2019s candidate.<\/p>\n\n\n

The Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS)<\/strong>, determined to retain the seat, has launched a forceful campaign led by party Working President K.T. Rama Rao<\/strong>. Senior BRS leaders and local cadres are conducting sustained outreach across neighbourhoods, projecting the development initiatives carried out in Hyderabad during their decade-long governance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Not to be left behind, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)<\/strong> has activated its top brass. Union Ministers G. Kishan Reddy<\/strong> and Bandi Sanjay Kumar<\/strong>, along with state BJP chief Ramchander Rao<\/strong> and several MPs and MLAs, are holding rallies and padayatras to boost their candidate\u2019s prospects.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Political Attacks Intensify<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has sharpened his attacks on both the BRS and BJP, alleging a \u201ctacit understanding\u201d between the two. He has repeatedly claimed that the BJP is covertly backing the BRS in the by-election.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Revanth is also showcasing the welfare programmes implemented by the Congress government, contrasting them with what he describes as the \u201clack of development\u201d in Jubilee Hills during the BRS rule.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The BRS has countered by highlighting the large-scale development it says was carried out in Hyderabad over the past decade, including infrastructure upgrades and public works projects. Both the BRS and BJP are aggressively targeting the Congress over what they call \u201cfailed promises\u201d and the alleged absence of significant progress in the last two years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Jubilee Hills seat, part of the Secunderabad Lok Sabha constituency represented by Union Minister Kishan Reddy, is witnessing a classic three-way fight<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The by-election was necessitated by the death of sitting BRS MLA Maganti Gopinath<\/strong> in June. The BRS has fielded his wife, Maganti Sunitha<\/strong>, in an emotional appeal for continuity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Congress has nominated Naveen Yadav<\/strong>, a former AIMIM candidate. In a significant development, AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi has extended his party\u2019s support to the Congress nominee, giving the ruling party a strategic push.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The BJP has once again chosen Lankala Deepak Reddy<\/strong>, who finished third in the 2023 Assembly election.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the 2023 poll, Gopinath secured a hat-trick victory by defeating former Indian cricket captain Mohammed Azharuddin<\/strong> by more than 16,000 votes. Though Azharuddin had expressed interest in contesting again, the Congress leadership accommodated him by nominating him to the Legislative Council. He was inducted into the state Cabinet last week as Minister for Minorities Welfare and Public Enterprises and is actively campaigning for the party candidate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Voter Profile & Election Arrangements<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The constituency has 4,01,365 registered voters<\/strong>\u20142,08,561 men and 1,92,779 women\u2014according to Hyderabad District Election Officer R. V. Karnan<\/strong>. With 58 candidates<\/strong> in the fray, each polling booth will use four ballot units and one VVPAT<\/strong> to accommodate the large number of contestants.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
