{"id":90250,"date":"2025-12-13T03:26:00","date_gmt":"2025-12-13T03:26:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/mavericknews30.com\/?p=90250"},"modified":"2025-12-13T03:26:00","modified_gmt":"2025-12-13T03:26:00","slug":"chief-minister-meets-mscpcr-officials","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mavericknews30.com\/?p=90250","title":{"rendered":"Chief Minister Meets MSCPCR Officials"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>Aizawl, December 2025:<\/strong> Chief Minister <strong>Pu Lalduhoma<\/strong> today met the <strong>Chairman and members of the Mizoram State Commission for Protection of Child Rights (MSCPCR)<\/strong> at his office.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>During the meeting, MSCPCR officials briefed the Chief Minister on the functioning of the Commission and discussed measures to further strengthen efforts to protect the rights of children. They noted that the Commission was constituted by the Central Government to serve as the voice of children, and deliberated on strategies to more effectively safeguard children\u2019s rights and entitlements.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Chief Minister expressed serious concern over the increasing number of <strong>POCSO cases in Mizoram<\/strong>, describing the trend as alarming. He emphasised the importance of <strong>swift disposal of cases involving crimes against children<\/strong>, as well as the strict and effective implementation of laws meant to protect children\u2019s rights and welfare.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Those present at the meeting included <strong>Pu Jimmy Laltlanmawia<\/strong>, Chairman, MSCPCR; <strong>Pi Lalengvari<\/strong>, Member Secretary, MSCPCR; and other members of the Commission.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The <strong>Mizoram State Commission for Protection of Child Rights (MSCPCR)<\/strong> was constituted under the Parliamentary legislation <strong>\u201cThe Commission for Protection of Child Rights Act, 2005.\u201d<\/strong> To ensure its effective implementation at the state level, the Government of Mizoram framed <strong>\u201cThe Mizoram State Commission for Protection of Child Rights Rules, 2017,\u201d<\/strong> under which the MSCPCR was formally established in <strong>February 2018<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As part of its initiatives, the MSCPCR regularly conducts <strong>routine school inspections<\/strong> in coordination with the School Education Department and submits recommendations based on findings from <strong>School Safety Research<\/strong>. In 2023, <strong>Child Welfare Officer Rooms and Children\u2019s Rooms<\/strong> were established at the <strong>Aizawl District Court<\/strong>, which have so far benefited <strong>814 children<\/strong>, of whom <strong>113 were involved in POCSO cases<\/strong>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Aizawl, December 2025: Chief Minister Pu Lalduhoma today met the Chairman and members of the Mizoram State Commission for Protection of Child Rights (MSCPCR) at his office.
