Jal Jeevan Mission: Women of Torankatta and Manki happy with tap connection in their homes

Under the Jal Jeevan Mission Scheme, the condition of the villagers has started improving as compared to earlier due to availability of pure drinking water in the Gram Panchayat Torankatta and its dependent village Manki under the development block Rajnandgaon of Rajnandgaon district. With tap connection in every house, now women do not have to stand in lines in front of the tap like before. This saves their time. At the same time, they are also getting sufficient pure drinking water. The villagers of Torankatta Gram Panchayat are now happy, availability of drinking water has been ensured in every house of their village. Under the government’s public welfare scheme Jal Jeevan Mission, the women of the village are happy with the tap connection in every house, now they do not have to stand in line in front of the hand pump. Under the guidance of Collector and Chairman District Water and Sanitation Mission Mr. Sanjay Agarwal, the Public Health Engineering Department has laid a distribution pipeline of 400-400 meters in the villages of Torankatta and Manki under Jal Jeevan Mission and has ensured the availability of tap water to about 304 families of both the villages. Sarpanch of village Torankatta, Smt. Sevati Sahu told that everyone in every house of the village is getting water, due to which there is an atmosphere of prosperity in the entire village. Public Health Engineering Department is running a continuous campaign to provide information about the schemes of the government. Smt. Tirath Bai of Ward No. 11 and Smt. Pramila Sahu of Ward No. 8 expressed gratitude to the government. They told that they had to go far away for water, stand in long queues for water, had to depend on boring and well, but now with Jal Jeevan Mission, they are getting sufficient amount of pure water through tap at home, which is also saving their time. Smt. Sita Bai, a member associated with drinking water management, told that every 3 months the purity of water is tested by water vessels through FTK kit, so that everyone can get quality drinking water. School student Pallavi Yadav said that earlier due to water problem, there was delay in going to school as well as other household works. Apart from the time of a woman, the time of her entire family was also wasted, but after the introduction of the scheme, all their work is getting completed on time. For which he also thanked the Central Government and the State Government.
