12th passed students can also take admission in B.Tech Agricultural Engineering and Food Technology

The online application process has been opened for admission in the first year of session 2024-25 on vacant seats under the “New Education Policy 2020” in B.Tech (Agricultural Engineering) or B.Tech (Food Technology) graduate course run under Indira Gandhi Agricultural University, Raipur. Native residents of Chhattisgarh who have passed PET – 2024, JEE Mains – 2024 and 12th class (Mathematics Group – Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, English) will be eligible to participate in this online counseling process.

The field of Agricultural Engineering and Food Technology is extremely important for innovation and use of advanced technologies in agriculture and food technology. The aim of Agricultural Engineering is to provide expertise to students in agricultural mechanization, irrigation systems, food processing, and environmental protection. At the same time, under Food Technology, students get expertise in food processing, quality control, and food safety, so that they can play an important role in the food industry. Recently, a plan has been made to establish the Directorate of Agricultural Engineering in the state of Chhattisgarh, which is likely to create new employment opportunities in the field of Agricultural Engineering and Food Technology.

The online registration process will run from 4 September 2024 to 08 September 2024 (till 12:00 noon). Candidates registering during this period will be given admission as per rules on the basis of preference list. Native candidates of Chhattisgarh who have passed PET – 2024, JEE Mains – 2024 or 12th class (Mathematics Group) can participate in this process. General category candidates require a minimum of 50 percent marks in 12th class, while for reserved category candidates this minimum limit has been fixed at 40 percent. Candidates who have passed 12th Mathematics Group from other states can also register online during this period; they will be given admission on vacant seats after the admission process of native candidates of Chhattisgarh is over.
