      Hyderabad, May 2026 : At the recently concluded Telangana Ice Skating Coaching Camp held at iSKATE, one young skater captured hearts with a performance that went far beyond medals and applause. Abhi Chandra, representing Telangana, achieved a remarkable milestone by winning the gold medal in the Special Category at the Short Track Speed Training Championship. The coaching camp, organised by the Ice Skating Association of Telangana from April 27 to May 5, brought together several promising young skaters preparing for future national-level competitions. Under the leadership of coach Raj Reddy and the expert guidance of national coach Ravi Dhillon, the camp focused not only on skating techniques but also on discipline, confidence, teamwork, and mental strength. Among the energetic participants, Abhi stood out quietly — calm, focused, and determined to give his best on the ice. For many athletes, a medal represents victory in sport. But for neurodivergent children and individuals on the autism spectrum, every achievement carries a much deeper emotional meaning. Evaluations and shortlisting will take place after the completion of the first and second camps, while the final team representing India at the Winter Special Olympics will be chosen after all four camps conclude. Abhi Chandra will proudly represent the state of Telangana during this crucial journey. Those associated with the camp say Abhi’s dedication has already become an inspiration for many young athletes, especially children with special needs who dream of competing on larger platforms.       Mehsana, April 19: Industrialist Gautam Adani, Chairman of the Adani Group, along with his wife Priti Adani, visited the historic Shri Ajitnath Bhagwan Shwetamber Jain Derasar on Sunday to offer prayers on the auspicious occasion of Akshaya Tritiya. The couple arrived at the Dabhoda helipad in Mehsana district’s Kheralu taluka early in the morning and were received by members of the Jain community. They then travelled to the hilltop temple, where a large number of devotees had gathered to mark the sacred day. The temple, dedicated to Lord Ajitnath, the second Tirthankara in Jainism, dates back to the 12th century and is associated with the Solanki ruler Kumarpal. It remains an important pilgrimage site known for its architectural heritage and religious significance. During the visit, Gautam Adani offered prayers inside the sanctum and spent time within the temple complex. The couple also briefly visited the canteen facility used by pilgrims, observing the arrangements in place for visitors. Adani later held discussions with temple trustee Sachin Ashokbhai Shah regarding plans to improve facilities for pilgrims. The focus was on enhancing access, amenities, and overall visitor experience while preserving the temple’s heritage value and spiritual character. In addition to infrastructure improvements, the Adani Group is supporting afforestation efforts in the Taranga hills. These initiatives aim to promote ecological restoration and protect the natural environment surrounding the sacred site. Akshaya Tritiya is considered one of the most auspicious days in both Hindu and Jain traditions, symbolising prosperity, new beginnings, and acts of charity. In Jain belief, the day marks the moment when Rishabhanatha received his first alms after a prolonged fast, establishing the tradition of offering food to ascetics. The visit follows a series of recent religious engagements by the Adani family. Earlier this month, on Hanuman Jayanti, Gautam Adani and his family offered prayers at the Ram Mandir, one of India’s most prominent religious sites. Today, all of us have gathered here to celebrate the 77th Republic Day of our country. Generally, 26th January is considered a very important day in history books, because on this day in 1950, our Constitution came into force. But to be honest… for us children, today is special for one more reason. Today, we don’t get scolded by our parents for waking up at 6 in the morning! Instead, mom lovingly wakes us up and says— “Wake up fast, dear. We have the flag hoisting in the society, and yes, later there will be samosas and laddoos too!” Jokes apart, today is truly a day of pride. When I see all of us standing together under the Tricolour in the garden of Omishree Signet, I truly understand the meaning of “Unity in Diversity.” Our society itself is like a mini India! People from different states, different languages—but when we greet each other with a “Good Morning” in the lift, or celebrate Diwali, Holi, Christmas, Lohri together, we are simply Signet residents. Friends, Dr. B.R. Ambedkar and our freedom fighters gave us a Constitution that ensured equality for all. At the age of 12, sometimes I feel that freedom means no homework or playing video games all day. But as we grow up, we begin to understand that true freedom and democracy mean understanding our responsibilities. Patriotism does not only mean fighting at the borders. If we don’t throw garbage in the society park, don’t press lift buttons unnecessarily, avoid wasting water, and help our neighbours—this too is a form of patriotism. And yes… if while playing we don’t break someone’s window glass—believe me, that will be the biggest act of patriotism for our society! In the end, I would like to say that we children are the future of this nation. Today we are hoisting the Tricolour in Omishree Signet; tomorrow, through our hard work and honesty, we must make it fly across the world. Let us all take a pledge today to become better citizens and make our society and our country even more beautiful. Before I conclude, I would like to recite these lines: “Do not live in the name of religion, Do not die in the name of religion, Humanity is the true religion of our nation— Live for the nation.” Once again, heartfelt wishes to everyone on Republic Day!
