63rd Teachers’ Day Observance Held at Hnahthial

Hnahthial : The “District Level Observance Function of 63rd Teachers’ Day” was held at the Horeb Lodge Conference Hall in Hnahthial. The event was presided over by Hnahthial District Officer, Pi Rita Lalnunmawii Pachuau.

During the ceremony, Pi Rita Lalnunmawii Pachuau praised the dedication and hard work of teachers, emphasizing the importance of their role in nurturing students. She noted that teachers contribute significantly to the development of both the nation and its people, and acknowledged their vital role in shaping the future of students.

The Chief Guest highlighted that the quality of education is crucial for the progress of society and urged teachers to continue striving for excellence in their profession. She also stressed the need for effective skill development programs to enhance the educational experience.

District Education Officer, Pu Micky R. Lalenkawla, addressed the attendees, emphasizing the significance of skill development and the importance of teachers in shaping a skilled workforce. He acknowledged the challenges faced by educators and highlighted their essential role in student development.

The event also included a recognition segment for pensioners and a TB awareness campaign. Prizes were awarded for an inter-middle school essay and poster painting competition, with ten consolation prizes of Rs. 1,000 each. The first prize went to C. Lalhriatsaki (MM English School), receiving a citation and Rs. 10,000. The second prize was awarded to Laltholehi (Presbyterian English School), with a citation and Rs. 8,000. The third prize went to Esther Lalremruati (St. Stephen’s School), with a citation and Rs. 5,000.

The event concluded with Pu C. Lalzarliana, Dy. DPC, Samagra Shiksha, expressing his gratitude for the successful observance of Teachers’ Day and recognizing the contributions of all involved.
