“Bihar Records Lowest, Tripura Highest Turnout in 2024 Lok Sabha first phase Polls”

The inaugural phase of the 2024 Lok Sabha elections commenced promptly at 7 am today, marking the initiation of the democratic process to elect the forthcoming cohort of Members of Parliament nationwide. Across 21 states and 102 constituencies, voters enthusiastically participated in this initial round of polling. Notable voter turnouts include Assam with 71.46%, Manipur with 68.81%, and Meghalaya with 73.69%, as reported by data from the Election Commission’s TURNOUT app.

Of significance, Bihar witnessed the lowest turnout at 47.74%, while Tripura emerged with the highest turnout among all states at 80.06%. The current phase of LS polls encompasses voting in Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Rajasthan, Sikkim, Tamil Nadu, Tripura, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, and West Bengal.
