A Common Man Becomes Chief Minister: The Greatness of Indian Democracy – Governor CP Radhakrishnan.

Thane, August 7: Indian democracy is considered the best in the world, as it allows individuals from common backgrounds to rise to positions of leadership through struggle and determination, asserted Governor C.P. Radhakrishnan. He made these remarks today at the Ram Ganesh Gadkari Rangayatan Theatre in Thane during the release of the biographical book ‘Yoddha Karmayogi – Eknath Sambhaji Shinde’, organized by the Konkan Marathi Sahitya Parishad, Sharda Education Society, and Grantali Publication.

The book release event was attended by several dignitaries, including Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, Deputy Chief Ministers Devendra Fadnavis and Ajit Pawar, Deputy Chairman Dr. Neelam Gorhe, and other prominent officials and ministers. Governor Radhakrishnan expressed his admiration for the rich cultural heritage of Maharashtra and the legacy of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, stating that Maharashtra’s name is respected across the country due to its historical significance.

Governor Radhakrishnan emphasized the importance of valuing books and paying for them, as this enhances the reading experience and deepens the understanding of their contents. He highlighted the achievements of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Eknath Shinde as examples of the greatness of Indian democracy, where dedicated individuals can ascend to high positions.

During his speech, the Governor praised Chief Minister Eknath Shinde’s hard work, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic and his commendable efforts as the guardian minister of Gadchiroli district. He expressed confidence that India will become a superpower by 2047 and that Maharashtra’s development will continue under the current government, which prioritizes public welfare over political interests.

Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, in his address, humbly attributed his success to the support of the people and emphasized his commitment to working for the welfare of the common man. He stated that power should be used for the benefit of the poor and that he considers all of Maharashtra his family. He reiterated his dedication to public service and credited his family’s unwavering support, particularly his wife’s, for his ability to work tirelessly for society.

Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis remarked that Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj epitomized the spirit of fighting for God, country, and religion. He noted that Chief Minister Eknath Shinde embodies this mantra in the modern age through his actions. Shinde’s exemplary qualities include his moderate attitude, willingness to listen to people, hardworking nature, and fairness in various positions. Fadnavis highlighted Shinde’s dedication to working for the people and his calm approach to facing conflicts, making him a true leader of the masses. The publication of Shinde’s biography serves as an inspiring guide for all, motivating ordinary citizens through his story.

Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar emphasized that late Yashwantrao Chavan instilled the principles of civilized politics in Maharashtra, principles that Chief Minister Eknath Shinde follows. Pawar described Shinde as a Chief Minister always surrounded by the people, passionate about agriculture, and deeply connected to village life. He acknowledged the significant contribution of Shinde’s family to his success.

Padmashri Shankar Baba Papalkar also shared his thoughts, praising Chief Minister Eknath Shinde as the leader of the common man and the protector of the orphans. Papalkar provided numerous examples of Shinde’s work, underscoring his commitment to the people.

Industries Minister Uday Samant introduced the program, and Narendra Bedekar moderated it. Prof. Dr. Pradeep Dhawal, the author of the biographical book, shared insights into its creation. Senior writer Padmashri Madhu Mangesh Karnik, co-authors Dr. Arundhati Bhalerao, Rajan Bane, Sanvi Oak, and Suresh Hinglaspurkar of Granthali Prakashan were felicitated by the Governor and Chief Minister during the event.

The event began with floral tributes to the statue of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj and the images of Hindu Heart Emperor Balasaheb Thackeray, Dharmaveer Anand Dighe, and Chief Minister Eknath Shinde’s mother, late Gangubai Sambhaji Shinde. The National Anthem and State Anthem were also performed. Mr. Vilas Thuse, President of Sharda Education Society, proposed the vote of thanks.
