Arunachal Pradesh CM Pema Khandu Praises Union Budget

Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu has praised the Union budget for the 2024-25 fiscal, presented by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman in Parliament. He highlighted that the budget aligns with the vision of ‘Viksit Bharat’ (Developed India) and will drive significant economic growth and industrial investment.

Khandu specifically mentioned the development of ‘plug and play’ industrial parks in or near 100 cities and the approval of 12 industrial parks under the National Industrial Corridor Development Programme. He noted that these initiatives are crucial for boosting industries and attracting investments, thus positioning India as a global industrial powerhouse. His remarks were shared on X, reflecting his optimism about the budget’s potential.

Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein also lauded the budget, calling it inclusive and fulfilling the aspirations of various sections of society. He emphasized that businessmen, farmers, industrialists, women, youth, and common people will all benefit from the proposed measures. The president of the Arunachal Chamber of Commerce and Industries (ACCI), Tarh Nachung, echoed this sentiment, appreciating the budget’s support for higher education loans and its focus on employment, skilling, and MSMEs.

Nachung particularly welcomed the government’s decision to provide financial support for loans up to Rs 10 lakh for higher education, which will alleviate a significant burden on families. He also praised the allocation of over Rs 22,000 crore for the MSME sector, which he believes will stimulate development and generate employment opportunities. Additionally, he commended the enhancement of the Mudra loan limit from Rs 10 lakh to Rs 20 lakh, which will enable businesses to expand. Taxpayer relief through an increased standard deduction for salaried employees was also acknowledged by S Bhowmick, who noted that it will benefit millions of individuals.
