“Building Bridges: Odisha CM Welcomes US Consul General”

Bhubaneswar : The Consul General of the United States at Hyderabad, Jennifer Larson, met with Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi at Lok Seva Bhawan in Bhubaneswar to discuss strengthening the partnership between the US and Odisha.

Chief Minister Majhi welcomed the Consul General and emphasized the importance of collaboration in various sectors, including industries, education, renewable energy, tourism, and culture. He highlighted Odisha’s advantages, such as trained manpower and the availability of land, water, and energy. Majhi sought the cooperation of the US to facilitate greater participation of US industries in the upcoming Utkarsh Utkal Conclave, scheduled to take place in 6-7 months.

Majhi also expressed interest in collaborating with US universities in areas such as artificial intelligence and machine learning. He sought cooperation in higher education and expressed a desire for US investment in establishing the semiconductor industry in Odisha. Additionally, he invited American companies to explore Odisha’s potential, vibrant culture, rich heritage, and natural beauty.

US Consul General Jennifer Larson congratulated Chief Minister Majhi on assuming office. She praised the industrial climate in Odisha and expressed the US’s keen interest in partnering with Odisha for commercial engagement. Larson also appreciated Odisha’s vibrant culture and expressed the US’s willingness to support Odisha in various sectors according to the state’s priorities.

Development Commissioner Anu Garg and Additional Chief Secretary to the Chief Minister Nikunja Bihari Dhal were among the key officials present at the meeting.
