Chhattisgarh will get direct connectivity to Ayodhya, proposal for new national highway.

Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Shri Vishnudev Sai met Union Road Transport Minister Shri Nitin Gadkari at his residence today. In the meeting, there was a detailed discussion on the ongoing road projects in the state and increasing direct connectivity to tribal areas and Ayodhya. The Chief Minister proposed new national highway projects to make road transport in the state more accessible and convenient. On which Union Minister Shri Gadkari gave necessary instructions to the departmental officers.

Deputy Chief Minister Shri Arun Saw and Finance Minister Shri OP Choudhary, Secretary to the Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh Shri P Dayanand, Shri Rahul Bhagat, Secretary of Public Works Department Dr. Kamalpreet Singh along with other departmental officers and officials of the Government of India were also present in the meeting.

In the meeting, Chief Minister Shri Vishnudev Sai proposed a new national highway to connect the social and economic development of the state and remote tribal forest areas with the main roads. The Chief Minister has demanded to declare the total 282 km route from Raigarh-Dharamjaygarh-Mainpat-Ambikapur-Uttar Pradesh border as a national highway. Mr. Sai said that this route passes through four districts of the state and is the main route connecting the religious city of Ayodhya to Chhattisgarh state.
The Chief Minister has also requested to declare Kawardha-Rajnandgaon-Bhanupratappur-Antagarh-Narayanpur-Gidam-Dantewada-Sukma route as National Highway. The Chief Minister said that this is a very important route connecting 6 national highways and 5 district headquarters of the state, totaling 482 km long. With the construction of this route, the Naxal-affected area of ​​Bastar will be connected to the main road and Naxal activities will decrease.

Along with this, he said that three national highways pass through Raipur city. Demanded to declare the route connecting NH 130B to 53 as National Highway. He said that after this route is declared NH, the ring road of Raipur city will become a complete national highway.

Apart from this, the Chief Minister has also proposed to declare Ratanpur-Lormi-Mungeli-Nandghat-Bhatapara-Balodabazar road, Kenchi-Pendraroad-Pasan-Katghora road, Mungeli-Nawagarh-Bemetara-Dhamdha-Durg-Jhalmala road, Rajnandgaon-Mohla-Manpur road, Pandaria-Bajag-Gadasarai road as national highways. Shri Sai has pointed out the need for four-lane widening from Katghora to Ambikapur on National Highway No. 130 and construction of grade separators at Sarona Chowk, Udyog Bhawan, and Telibandha Chowk for safe traffic from Tatibandh to Telibandha on NH No. 53.

Along with this, he has proposed to make NH 30 Dhamtari to Jagdalpur and Raipur-Balodabazar-Saranghad road in NH 130B four-lane in the annual plan 2024-25 of National Highway. At the same time, approval has been requested for construction of grade separators at two junctions of Raipur-Durg NH 53, Sirsa Gate and Khursipar Junction.

The Chief Minister informed that proposals for 13 works worth Rs. 1383 crores have been sent to the Ministry under the Central Road Fund. He requested for approval of the proposals soon.

During the meeting, the Chief Minister also invited the Union Minister to attend the 83rd Annual Session of the Indian Road Congress to be held in Raipur in November. Union Minister Shri Nitin Gadkari has assured to take positive initiative on various proposals to strengthen road infrastructure in Chhattisgarh as soon as possible.
