CM visit to flood-hit areas in Suryapet and Khammam

CM Sri Revanth Reddy visits several flood affected colonies in the Khammam district and consoled the victims.

Chief Minister Sri A Revanth Reddy instilled confidence among flood affected people by announcing the government will extend all kinds of support to the victims of untimely heavy rains.

As part of a field visit to the flood affected districts, the Chief Minister reached Suryapet first from Hyderabad and reviewed flood situation in Mothe Mandal. Later the CM arrived in Khammam district and inspected the breached overflowing Palair canal and road damages at Nayakan Gudem.

The Chief Minister examined the collapsed left canal of Palair and then reached Khammam. The CM visited Pollepalli, Padda Thanda and Bokkalagadda colonies which are inundated due to heavy flood in Munneru Vagu and inspected the damaged houses. CM Revanth Reddy consoled the victims of the heavy rains before holding a review in Khammam Collectorate.

The Chief Minister said that 16 people lost their lives due to heavy rains and Old Khammam, Warangal and Nalgonda districts suffered severe damages. Crops have been damaged in lakhs of acres, canals and ponds breached, road network cut off and electric sub stations and electric poles also damaged, the CM said that preliminary estimation indicated a loss of 5,438 crore property damages. Government received information that Adilabad, Nirmal and Nizamabad districts will receive more rains.

The Chief Minister said that the entire administration is busy with providing relief to the flood victims and a detailed survey on damages will be conducted after normalcy is restored.

Since the state is receiving heavy rains for the last two days, CM Revanth Reddy said that he has been reviewing the flood situation with the Chief Secretary, DGP, Disaster Response Commissioner and Collectors continuously. He is visiting the flood ravaged areas to instill confidence among the victims that the government is standing by the affected families, the chief minister said some people suggested not to visit at this time as people are in distress. He turned down the suggestion because he strongly believed that support should be extended when people are suffering. The CM said that the damages occurred in the vicinity of Munneru Vagu is colossal. Old aged people between 70 and 80 years also narrated their woes and they never experienced such adverse conditions. The CM instructed officials to provide Rs 10000 as immediate relief to those who lost all their belongings like rice, pulses along with TV, fridges in the floods.

Opposition leaders are enjoying in abroad, stop criticizing Govt.

CM Revanth Reddy said that the government accorded priority to the people’s interests. The ministers and officers are extending help to the people from the day the state is witnessing incessant heavy rains. Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka, Ministers Tummala Nageswara Rao and Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy are visiting the flood affected areas in the midnight also in Khammam district. Minister N Uttam Kumar Reddy returned from Delhi immediately and monitoring releif activities closely.

Opposition leaders and Congress leader Sharmila are participating in relief programs in the flood affected areas in Andhra Pradesh, the CM said criticizing KCR for staying in his farm house and maintaining the silence. KTR and his friends are on holiday trip in America. The Chief Minister warned KTR to refrain from criticizing his cabinet colleagues. The Chief Minister said that he already demanded the Centre to declare flood fury in Telangana as National Calamity and requested Prime Minister Narendra Modi to visit the rain ravaged state. The CM questioned the main Opposition leaders for not demanding the centre to help the state in the difficult times.

Kalvakuntla family will not help even a single penny

CM Revanth Reddy said that former India Vice President Venkaiah Naidu announced some help to the flood affected state. The Kalvakuntla family amassed crores of wealth but not ready to support . The CM suggested to KCR family to get rid of the sins they committed by donating at least Rs 1000 crore or Rs 2000 crore from their ill gotten money for flood relief.

Warns of strict action against erring officials

Chief Minister Revanth Reddy cautioned the spread of communicable diseases in the flood affected areas. The CM instructed the Panchayat Raj and Municipal authorities to take up cleanliness a d sanitation measures and the Health Department officials should make available required medicines. An ex-gratia of Rs 5 Lakhs will be given to the kin of deceased due to heavy rains.

Rs.10,000 per acre immediate assistance will be provided to the affected farmers , Rs 50,000 for cattle loss and Rs 5000 will be given in case Goats and Sheeps dies. The officials of all department have been asked to be vigilant and coordinate each other.

The District Collectors have been asked to take disciplinary action against the officials who failed to discharge their duties. It is the government’s responsibility to support people and the officials should perform their duties.

The Chief Minister appealed to the business community , voluntary organizations and people to come forward and support the victims. The media has also been requested to bring out real issues and telecast them on TVs. Some Newspapers and TVs owned by some parties taken up a false propaganda and these institutions are not considered as media outlets.

The Chief Minister warned that the political parties will face drubbing like in Assembly and Lok Sabha elections, again if they do not mend their ways.
