Constitution Buildings to Be Constructed in Every Taluk – CM Shinde

Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar : As the country prepares to celebrate Independence Day in four days, Chief Minister Eknath Shinde announced that Constitution Buildings will be constructed in every taluk to honor Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar’s Constitution and to strengthen the spirit of social justice. “As long as the sun and moon shine, Babasaheb’s Constitution will endure,” Shinde declared, emphasizing the global recognition of India as a republic and sovereign nation due to Ambedkar’s contributions. He also assured residents that the city’s Development Plan (DP) would be in the best interests of all.

At the ‘Chief Minister Gratitude Ceremony’ held today at TV Center Chowk in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, several development initiatives were announced. These include Rs. 50 crores for the construction of a world-class Buddha Vihara and Vipassana center at the foot of the Ajanta Caves, Rs. 5 crores for the beautification of the Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar statue at Bhadkal Gate, Rs. 5 crores for the construction of a Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj statue and Ashok Pillar at the TV Centre, Rs. 25 crores for the Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Library, and Rs. 25 crores for a digital project at the Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Research Center. The Chief Minister expressed gratitude for the support and assured the audience of his continued commitment to these initiatives.

The event was attended by Union Minister of State for Health Prataprao Jadhav, State Minister for Marketing and Minority Development Abdul Sattar, Housing Minister Atul Save, MP Sandipan Bhumre, MLA Pradeep Jaiswal, Sanjay Shirsat, convener Jalinder Shendge, and other committee members.

The ceremony began with a tribute to Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj and Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar, followed by the presentation of a certificate of honor to Chief Minister Shinde. The Chief Minister then interacted with the attendees, expressing his deep respect for Dr. Ambedkar and acknowledging the significant contributions of the people of Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar.

Gratitude to the Great Man

Chief Minister Shinde expressed his sincere thanks to the people of Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar for their love and support, while humbly noting that he was only fulfilling his duties. He emphasized that the various development projects being implemented in the region are the rightful entitlement of the citizens. Reflecting on the legacy of Dr. Ambedkar, Shinde remarked that Maharashtra is fortunate to be the birthplace of such a great leader and that it is essential to express gratitude for his contributions. The Chief Minister noted that Babasaheb Ambedkar had a special connection to the city, which is now honored by these initiatives.

Shinde also highlighted the construction of a beautiful Buddha Vihara and Vipassana Center at the foot of the world-famous Ajanta Caves, along with various other projects such as libraries in city slums, a digital research center, a planetarium, and support for backward entrepreneurs. He emphasized that these initiatives are intended to inspire and uplift the community.

Celebrating the Constitution

The Chief Minister underlined the importance of the Constitution, authored by Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar, as the foundation of India’s status as a republic and sovereign nation. He urged citizens to resist any propaganda aimed at altering the Constitution, reiterating the phrase, “As long as the sun and moon shine, Babasaheb’s Constitution will remain.”

Maharashtra Is My Family

Chief Minister Shinde affirmed that his government is dedicated to the welfare of the weak, backward, hardworking, and poor. He cited the implementation of one lakh crore rupees in this year’s budget, including Rs. 45,000 crores to be deposited into the bank accounts of women across the state. He mentioned several key initiatives, such as the Mukhyamantri Majhi Ladki Bahin Yojana, youth work training, the Mukhyamantri Annapurna Yojana providing three cylinders per year, and free education for girls. The Chief Minister emphasized that it is the government’s responsibility to uplift the weak and ensure a happy life for all, expressing his deep affection for Maharashtra as his family.

He also mentioned the ongoing construction of an international-standard monument to Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar at Indu Mill in Mumbai and the grant of fellowships to 861 BARTI students. Shinde provided updates on various schemes aimed at supporting the backward communities, such as the Sant Rohidas Tannery and Leather Workers Development Corporation, and the Demokratar Anna Bhau Sathe Development Corporation, which aim to bring the poor, backward, and weak into the mainstream.

A Development Plan for the Benefit of All

The Chief Minister stated that the government has approved funding of Rs. 3,552 crores for the construction of the Jalgaon-Jalna highway, which will promote tourism in the district. While discussing the development plan for Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar city, he assured that the plan would consider the interests of everyone. He emphasized that this government is committed to providing homes, not making people homeless.

Gautam Kharat introduced the program, and Housing Minister Atul Save, Mr. Pradeep Jaiswal, and MP Sandipan Bhumre shared their thoughts. Panchshila Bhalerao performed the song ‘Shinde Sahebe Anali Ladki Bahin Yojana.’ A large number of citizens attended the ceremony, with a notable presence of women. The event was moderated by Pravina Kannadkar.
