Devendra Fadnavis, Deputy Chief Minister, is Committed to Solving All Developmental Issues of the Maratha Community

Satara : The Maratha community has long been intertwined with the eighteen Pagad castes and tribes. The government is committed to addressing all issues related to the economic and social upliftment of this community. It is the government’s responsibility to ensure that the Maratha community receives reservation under any circumstances. All developmental issues are being resolved through discussion, and welfare decisions are being made within the framework of the law. Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis emphasized that the Annasaheb Patil Economic Backward Development Corporation has been restructured and strengthened to make the youth of the Maratha community employable. He also congratulated the corporation on successfully reaching the milestone of creating 1 lakh Maratha entrepreneurs.

The remarks were made during the “1 Lakh Maratha Entrepreneurs Milestone Completion Program” organized by the Annasaheb Patil Economic Backward Development Corporation in association with the Satara District Central Cooperative Bank Ltd. and the Zilla Parishad at Yashwantrao Chavan Hall. The event was attended by Guardian Minister Shambhuraj Desai, Corporation Chairman Narendra Patil, Krishna Khore Development Corporation Vice Chairman Mahesh Shinde, MLA Shrimant Chhatrapati Shivendrasinhraje Bhosale, MLA Jayakumar Gore, Former MP Ranjitsinh Naik-Nimbalkar, Corporation Managing Director Anil Patil, District Bank Manager Rajendra Sarkale, District Collector Jitendra Dudi, Chief Executive Officer Yashni Nagarajan, Superintendent of Police Sameer Shaikh, and others.

Deputy Chief Minister Fadnavis noted that the government has consistently worked towards the development of the Maratha community. Since job creation alone is not sufficient, the Corporation has been restructured to foster entrepreneurship within the Maratha community. Loans amounting to ₹8.5 crores have been provided through various banks, with the Corporation granting nearly ₹825 crores in interest refunds. The Satara District Central Cooperative Bank has played a significant role in this process. Fadnavis also expressed the goal of creating 5 lakh more entrepreneurs with the cooperation of banks, aiming for these entrepreneurs to generate 25 lakh jobs.

He further highlighted that the creation of organizations like Sarathi has facilitated competitive examination preparation for the youth of poor farmers and ordinary members of the Maratha community. Sarathi has demonstrated the importance of action planning for the development of society and its youth. In response to MLA Shrimant Chhatrapati Shivendrasinhraje Bhosale’s request, a hostel will be established for Maratha community youth in Satara. The government has already provided ₹1,600 crores in subsistence allowances to Maratha community students and has decided to make 507 different courses free for girls.

Corporation Chairman Narendra Patil expressed his emotions upon the completion of the milestone of creating 1 lakh entrepreneurs. He emphasized that the reorganization of the Corporation is serving the Maratha entrepreneurs effectively. Patil also stated that the Corporation’s role in fostering businesses within the Maratha community is invaluable, with government, cooperative, and NBFC banks in Maharashtra distributing loans worth ₹8.5 crores to Maratha community entrepreneurs and the Corporation refunding interest amounting to ₹850 crores.

MLA Shri Bhosale acknowledged the crucial role of the Satara District Central Bank in the Corporation’s loan disbursement efforts and expressed satisfaction that they have been able to reach the needy industrialists of the Maratha community. He also thanked the government for sanctioning and funding the construction of provincial and tehsil offices and reiterated the need for a hostel for the children of the Maratha community.

The Deputy Chief Minister also conducted the groundbreaking ceremony (Bhumi Poojan) for the Sub-Divisional Officer’s office and the administrative building in Satara via a television link. During the event, beneficiaries were honored by dignitaries.

The program was attended by a large number of officials from various organizations, citizens, and young entrepreneurs.
