Former President Donald Trump Attacked Again: Gunshots Heard During Golf, Investigation Underway

Former U.S. President Donald Trump has been involved in another security incident. While playing golf at a Florida course on Sunday, gunshots were heard nearby. Trump, who is the Republican Party’s candidate for the upcoming presidential election, is safe. His campaign team confirmed that he was unharmed and the area was immediately secured after the gunfire. This comes nearly two months after another attack during a rally.

The U.S. Secret Service is investigating the incident. The White House has informed President Joe Biden and Democratic Party candidate Kamala Harris about the event. A statement from Trump’s campaign spokesperson, Steven Cheung, reassured, “President Trump is safe following the shooting incident.” As of now, no further details have been provided.

The FBI is treating the shooting as a potential assassination attempt. A suspect has been arrested after a local police officer saw a rifle barrel protruding from the golf course fence. The Secret Service reported that the attack took place 250 to 350 meters away from Trump. The suspect fled, leaving behind an AK-47 style rifle, backpacks, and a GoPro camera, but was eventually captured.

Authorities are continuing their investigation to determine the exact circumstances of the incident. Trump’s security measures have been heightened since a similar incident in July, including increased protection at Trump Tower in New York and the use of bulletproof glass during rallies.
